What kind gear and where to send??

    Need some opinions here folks:

My old man, after skiing on rentals this season has decided that he likes it enought to buy another pair of skis, after 15yrs of not skiing.

Surprising he's pretty agile and has way less fear than a dude his age would have(so i think) guess skiing is like "riding a bike" afterall. Anyway, not being familiar with NE, i dont' really knwo where to send him. Also he doesn't want to wait till next season as he's such a "bargin" shopper he's insistent that the "deal" is to be had in the upcoming tail end of winter sales etc.

    1. Where's the best shop to send him, that'll take care of him / humor him. in the New england area?

    2. best package?
What do you guys think is a good ski for all mountain for a remarkably spry soon to be grandpa. He can ski most eastcoast diamonds, conservately and will push to keep up as he hates being labeled old!
    3. boots
    4. Bindings.

He'll pretty much agree to what i suggest, however i always welcome mag. advice.

Oh and as cheap as he is, and he'll bitch regardless of what the cost, it'll probably be the last time he buys gear so i'd rather have him get the pimpest shit.

    thx bros.

Put my dad on my r:ex's last time we were out. He's used to skiing skinny skis and he had a blast. Might be an option.

    1. The New England area, although relatively small as regions go, has many fine ski shops in its various states. Knowing what state he lives in would be helpful.

    2. Tech talk, biiiiiiyatch.

    3. If he's near Boston, Bob Smith's/Wilderness House on Comm Ave will do him right, especially with bootfitting (and has all their shit on super-duper mega sale, from what I hear).

he is near boston, any shops in NH or VT will work but the boston metro area or thar abouts would be preferable.

He's using my old atomics, he's a firm disbeliever in old straight skis now.

    So half's tech talk....halfs not.

    thx

My dad is 63 and looking into a pair of Volkl AC4s, depending on your pop's size you might want to look into the Volkl all-mtn skis.
    Believe.

You might consider sending him to Ski Sharp on route 100 in Waitsfield Vermont. Very specialized shop, great service etc. He should definately consider the Stockli Stormrider XL. I think Ski Sharp demos, they also sell direct on their web site.

Teneighty Gun? I'm going to let my dad ski on my PR's when I meet up with him in a couple weeks...

Seconded. They don't have too much left in stock, but there are some deals to be had. They might still have some Head im85s, not sure of the price on those.
