    Post FS: 165 Explosives

    SOLD!

These skis have been a pain in my ass. Someone finally wants them so I go home to tell my wife about setting up a Paypal Sale and she tells me that she sold them to a friend herself that same day.

Thanks for the interest Mags, and sorry for the circus show sale.

Brand new bought from a liquidator for my wife as a Christmas present. She is looking for something more east coast "everyday" whatever that is. I couldn't pass them up as they were a great deal.

Best offer in about a week or so will get them. To get whole I need $275 and I will ship them. Respond or PM.

I can take and post more pics tonight if anyone would like them.

    Thanks,

    Hannes

Convince her she needs to keep them. That is a great everyday ski for someone smaller/ lighter. In the 165cm length it's actually shorter than some K2 160 Phat Luvs, and the 165cm Explosiv is a lot softer flexing than the 173cm (which in turn is softer than the 180, and ditto for the 180 vs the 190).

I have so tried this appraoch, but she is not buying into the fat ski on the east coast thing at all. I wish she would try them but no go.

It has to snow sometime on the east coast, right? Does she have a powder ski already?

FWIW, if no-one here wants them, Explosivs -- even the 165cm -- seem to be getting big $ on ebay.

No she doesn't have one and while understands it for me, she doesn't grasp the quiver concept. She wants a new everyday ski and want to put a touring binding on her old Atomic Beta Ride something or others. Baby steps...

Thanks for the e-bay idea. I don't do the e-bay thing, but she does, so I'll keep it in mind.

I have neer skied any Explosiv, so can't really comment. Maybe El Chupacabra can shed some more light comparing the two. Probably a lot of other info on the board about it with a search.

Let me know what you are thinking.

I haven't skied the 165 or 173, but have flexed both side by side. All the Explosivs get thinner as they get shorter, so they also get softer. The 165 is nothing like the 190 (which I have). I wouldn't say the 165 was noodle soft, but it's definitely more medium flex than stiff flex.

My girlfriend loves her 165 Explosives. She is 5'5" and weighs 120 lbs, solid intermediate-advanced skier, skis everything from pow to steeps. She has some 1080's and Phat Luvs and well, but says the go-to ski is the Explosive for everything.

I am going to put the wife on a pair of these to try this weekend. If she likes 'em I may be interested. Are these still up for grabs?
