    Broke My Ass this weekend!

So this weekend a friend of mine convinced me to enter a big air competition at our local hill. I hit the kicker several times, with success. During the final practice run, I decided to go big.

I am not a park rat by any means, usually straight airs. I was the only one entered in my age group. i was sure to win. My three planned tricks were Huge Spead Eagle with Ball Buster, screamin' seaman & to top it all off a really floaty Iron Cross.

Well I went huge on the practice and cleared the tabletop and landed 3 feet before the transition to flat. Compression on the landing and a lame attempt at recovery, I spun out and slammed my ass right into some ice. next thing I know there are 6 people around me telling me not to move, and ski patrol was on its way.

I laid there for a few, in serious pain, by the time ski patrol was there I was up, but in pain.

They took me back and checked me out suggesting that I go to the doc as soon as I could, and to keep it iced.

I went to the doc and had an xray done, looks like I cracked my ass. There is a slight fracture in my coxcyx, and I have a hideous bruise on the small of my back which makes it painful to sit, stand or lay down.

Fortunately they gave me some good drugs and am starting to feel a bit better.

Any reccomendations to ease the pain or make recovery quicker? I can't drink while on this medication.

    Slooooooow pitch....

Seriously, that sucks, heal up fast. I have no recommendations, but if it's a nondisplaced fracture, hopefully it'll heal back together quickly without any kind of intervention. Don't ski or fall down for awhile.

I'm not surprised it cracked, it already had a hole in it!

Yeah I am not planning on doing much skiing before it feels better. It is non-displaced, so that is teh good news. However, i have a big race in 25 days, hopefully I am well enough to compete.

OUCH! Sorry to hear Indy. I've seen you get steezy before, with success.

Yeah, that hit was built up about 2 feet higher, with a tabletop, then a steeper landin zone, but was still about that same length. I cleared almost the whole landing area.

Ouch is right. The meds are helping alot, but it still hurts to sleep.
