    NSR vid...should make you think

Take the time to watch this movie. It is long but worth while and quite important I believe. It reaffirms some questions I have asked about the events pre and post. Believe what you want to believe but watching this vid should raise some serious questions as to what the hell is going on in this world. and if you believe the American gov't wouldn't do such a thing...then ask yourself about the American governments repsonse to the past years hurricanes...thousands of people still displaced..thousands of poor white but mainly non-white people still shitting in the streets. Feel free to pass it on to others.

I find it excruciatingly ironic that the left is very fond of accusing the current administration of 'fear mongering'.

....Then ask yourself the necessity for the city of New Orleans to still spend MILLIONS throwing another Mardi Gras celebration, albeit the issues you have noted.

    Stoy,

I haven't watched the vid yet, I'm at work. I will watch it though. But here's my take on political vids:

It is very easy to skew the truth with video. Any producer/editor can take events (audio/video) and mix and match in the editing suite to make any point they want. You can take things completely out of context, without the audience having any idea.

Example: Shoot a bunch of footage in the south of African Americans in some sort of despair. Don't shoot any Caucasion folks in any despair, but sitting around drinking tea and eating crumpets. Then put it all together to dramatize the African American situation. And presto, you have your documentary on the ills of the American govt. Etc, etc.

This won't be popular here with some. But look at Michael Moore's 'documentary'. If you read any reviews of his film by any credible documentarian, you will find that they all think his 'documentary' was a joke and a disgrace the idea of documentaries. He even admitted that. He says he made a 'film' or a 'movie'. He never calls it a documentary because he knows it isn't one. There are several instances where he uses audio/video out of context to make his point. But assuming his audience will not pick up on it.

I can shoot a video of someone hacking there way down a couloir, falling, stumbling, and gaping. And edit smoothly together to make it look like they stomped it. Just by editing out the crap, and keeping only the limited few good turns.

I could go to Iraq for a month and shoot 20 hours of neutral vid. I could come back with that footage and make a case for the war with one project. And a case against the war in another project. All with the same footage. You could make our war effort to be the most fucked up thing ever, or the best thing we've ever done. It's that easy. Just takes a little creative effort and the viewer taking everything for fact. Just add some fancy voice over from Brokaw or the like, and you're good to go.

Again, I haven't watched this specific vid. But most political, partisan vids have some sort of skew to them. And they should, because it gets the producers point across. But it's something to think about while viewing them.
