Considering that I took two good snowboarders out there, I doubt your oberservational perspective. While the area that I was in was way out there, you could have tucked on a snowboard and taken a downhill traverse instead of getting the extra 200 vert or so that I sidestepped and traversed to get. Then again, I am a glutton for punishment, and like to go vertical in pow instead of sideways


Also, local wise, I don't think we have a massive gaper population on anything. Most of the snowboarders and skiers at the mountain rip (me excluded). It is just this last week for the holidays that brings out the beginners.

People just in general don't like traversing for 20 to 30 minutes for snow. I just treat it as a backcountry ski day.

Tru tru there are a lot of people who rip on snowboards, i just hate the ones that heelslide things that they really shouldn't be on, like north face and eagle,

we probably have less gapers per capita then most resorts, but I think I'm in the top 75% which is weird cause I kinda suck

Being in the top 75% of gapers on a given hill and sucking is not necessarily cause for consternation, as statistics for this particular category of boarders seem to support your low self esteem.
