B4's too fat for public/Keystone = gaper central???
My two friends are up here in Keystone skiing while I do homework. One is demo'ing some new B4's and my other friend is skiing on my old B3's, both 94 underfoot. Granted, the conditions are shitty, and they may be a BIT too much girth for maching groomers, but I was appalled at my friends' reports that they have heard at least five separate times today "DAMN THOSE ARE SOME FAT ASS SKIS! WHY DON'T YOU JUST FREAKING SNOWBOARD?"
Apparently one of these outbursts came from a liftie. What the hell is wrong with these people? Have they never seen a 110-waist ski before? Have they never seen someone on pocket rockets on a hardpack day?
I think I have heard this from one gaper in my 10 or so days on my B3's this year (four of which were at Keystone), but five times in a day? Is it just to be expected from Keystone, or are maggot-standard all-mountain skis (let's not have a discussion on how noodly they are...) a new stigma in the 10-day-a-year Denverite's eyes?
Silly.

"Coming here and asking whether you need wider skis is like turning up at the Neverland Ranch and asking Michael if he'd like to come to Tampa with the kids" -bad roo.
