Anyone here have gmail? If so, try logging in.....can you actually see your e-mail? This is retarded, I tried logging in and it said it put me in lockdown after I hit refresh a few times and I couldnt get in - now same shits happening now that im not in lockdown anymore...just wont load when I try logging in!

Weird, it just started working again here too. I've been trying for the past hour and it just kept going in lockdown and when it came out of lockdown not loading, now it works like normal..oh well, hopefully that doesnt happen again lol

Gmail sucks dick.....just replyed to a "welcome to the team"note from a new boss thinking him for the opportunity etc etc etc ...and gmail times out....now need to figure out if the msg was actully sent...but now am unable to log in adn get the "we are encountering problems blah blah try again later..."

gmail rocks. it has the occasional glitch, but shit, so do hotmail and yahoo mail. not sure what "lockdown" mode is, though.

pepperdawg, just get into your "sent mail", if it's there it was sent.

Yeah the sever just went down about 20-30 minutes ago. They said, just before that, that they were having technical difficulties with the chats. Now I can't even log on.

Mine's working right now. Odd, maybe they're getting a denial-of-service attack against them or something.

when you log in to gmail, and you look at the gmail logo in the upper lefthand corner, see that word under gmail? beta?

that usually means it shouldnt be relied on in mission critical applications and if you cant handle a few bugs you should stay away.

actually, I think that's a bullshit copout on gmail's part. They're not in beta, they are a full fledged free email provider and they know it. They've been providing service for waht now, 2 years? The "beta" and invite only things is just to seem cool. At some point, regardless of whether the "beta" stay there, that excuse gets lost.

Of course, it just gets replaced with the "we're a free email service, fuckhead, that still manages to provide you with gigs of free storage. Quit yer whining!".

gmail is nice, but don't use the web version. use an email program like thunderbird or outlook to get your mail from the server.

while it has been a couple years that gmail has been in beta, the fact that google still considers it to be in beta should give an overall indication of it's reliability.
