I broke the plastic toewing piece off my 916 and sent them back for a minor fix. They called the shop that was handling the warranty claim and they have no s916 left in stock. They cant fix it??? They said I can get store credit or next years binding if I send them the other toe and the heels. WTF they dont have any pieces to fix their bindings? Its sooo minor, its a fucking plastic piece, this seems retarded to me. Does anyone have any pull there? PM me if you do so i can give you an RA#..

Normally id take the new bindings but i borrowed a good toepiece from a friend and mounted my pontoons. I was going to give him the warrantied toe when it got back to me. I dont want to weaken the holes with a second mount if its not necessary.

yeah checked with mr M and he said he couldnt do anything. I like looks, i own a few, but I prefer sollys. In any case a solly vs look debate doesnt help me right now. Im just kind of stunned that they cant replace a simple piece that THEY made.

dude, i can fix it... done it many times. pull the piece off of a 912, and epoxy it on.

i don't have enough pull to get you a new set of bindings w/ only a toepiece @ warrenty though...

ps: z- you will see far more p18/zr's w/ missing afd's than salomon's missing those toe thingys


edit: i should *hopefully* have a new set of 916's (though they may be 920's) on the way, maybe i can give L the toe, send the rest in to warranty, and get me another set?

edit#2: considering how shitty the build quality of your ponttons are, i WOULD NOT screw into the same holes again... just my .02

My guess is that they are no better or worse than the spats as far as durability is going to be, but maybe I'll actually read that and figure it out for myself.

cool. can't say anymore on the pontoon, but i can say that after skiing the proto version of dp lotus 138's, it is seriously the shit, and i can't wait to play with the real version

So i have a pair of 916's that are also missing one of the plastic thingies under the toe wing. I don't really need them right away, so I could wait until next year I guess. What's the best way to get Salomon to give me a new pair? Do I need a shop to send it in? Can anyone help with this. Thanks.

not exactly the same. the backing is slightly different, but you can mod 'em and glue the replacement ones on no problem.
