Ok, so I have, like many of you, watched the big lebowski hundreds of times, and I can say there are pretty much no special effects at all in this movie...

..except....

After the dude talked to the old lebowski for the first time and Brandt is escorting him out, they stop to talk to bunny.

There is no way any human can make their nostrils flare like that. I say that special effects must have been used, my buddy begs to differ, thinks is possible to do without computer aid.

Why would the Coen Bros use special effects for just this small portion of film?(well besides acid trip scenes) WTF is going on here?

I know what you are talking about, I always felt that Phillip Seymour Hoffman must have excellent nostril control. I'm voting for non-computer enhanced nostril flares.


for the record, my favorite Brant part, is when he hands The Dude the ransom note and then immediately stands like a robot with his arms at his sides perfectly straight, fingers fully extended...waiting for his next command.

Watch the part on zoom or a big tv, that type of rapid fire nostril flares seem impossible. And no one laughs out their nose, the amount of coordination to pull of something like that would be insane.
