    '06 Verbier Ride Results

Here are the results of the '06 Verbier Ride world tour qualifying day.

Props to Crazy Aussie from Kirkwood, Jon Mullens, for qualifying sixth.

Dying to see what went down during the main event. The videos on the Verbier Ride website are usually sicko.

verbier has been nuked by wet snow for 4 days and the ava risk was so high they had to bomb the mt gelè to almost naked rocks.... a real pity

Warren's not updated the site since the qualifier day - any Euros got any info? Did the WT day go ahead? V61?

Can't find anything on the UK/Euro sites either, hope it did after all the crap Warren had with sponsors pulling out at the last min and such, would suck if all the last min running around ended up for nothing....

Jonski, was there on monday and the few riders I talked with, said they did the finals, and super finals were supposed to go on today...

So I'm guessing they are just too busy to update the site or something.

Is #3 Craig Corbiej actually Craig Garbiel? I wonder if they jacked his name up that badly because Craig G. was prequilified and so was this Craig C....although there's no Craig C. on the IFSA world tour pre-qualified lists....

gotta be...holy shit if he got third...way to fuggin go Craig!!

GC -- There's a cut-off listed on that page you linked. I wonder if those above the cut-off line are the ones advancing to the SuperFinals. Or maybe that is the final results.........

foxy, you talking about Tor Stetson Lee? that's awesome if he competed. sick tele'r with his offering last year, pony'ing over the rocks and all, first day. he placed top 10 at CB right? i thought i remembered seeing him up there. I actually have a DVD of the comps last year if you'd like a copy, btw. just hard to find someone to burn it, as i'm a DVD burn jong, but i can ask around if you want one.
scroll to "Buy DVD", very bottom of page http://bhandf.com/bhandf%202008/longform.htm I do not work for Bill, just dig his work.

Yep, that'd be the one, I think he's actually only 20. He's over there for the winter this year. He got 9th at the CB TELE comp last year, steppin' up. Good Job.

mt gelè conditions dictated an heavy cut of participants on that turf, and the hot stuff is scheduled for today. said that, as you can see from pics the selection days on the attelas were really tough. It's an intricated series of couloirs that can be even more intimidating than mr. mt gelè himself

I'd like to second this. Be sure to yell at him to put the bar down in Spanish.

Naw he got 5th..bummer...but god damn amazing to see his name up there with all those other heavyweights like Chicherit, etc. while competing in such a gnarly venue like Mt. Gele. He was in second after the SuperFinal! Bummer he lost a ski...

The play-by-play writeup in the link that Verbier provided is awesome. I wish every event had writeups like that. Now bring on the vids! I wanna see this "9" line score line.

No kidding. Also, a big ups to Jon Mullens. He skis rather well for an Australian.
