If you mean Utah Valley State College, yeah, it's a bit further to the skiing than the U of U. Maybe 20 more mintes, which can be key while juggling school and skiing. I went to Montana State in Bozeman. Bridger Bowl is 30 minutes away and has a cheap pass. Big Sky is an hour away. Bozeman used to be cheap to live in too, not sure anymore.

It's also more of a lower level school. It is full of BYU rejects. Just come to the U like I did and you won't regret it.
