    Give me new frame suggestions

Okay I need a new dually frame.

    Here are my wants.
    Cheap
    6 inch travel
    strong
    cheap
    low maintenance
    slack head angle
    size medium

It will get a 170mm fork and be ridden on the shore and Whistler. Needs to accept a front derailer for granny gear climbing.

Are there any knock offs out there that I can save a few bucks on. I rode the crap out of a KHS 504 (copy of a SC superlight) back east until it broke in October. Not worried about warranty, if it's cheap and last till mid summer I'll be happy. By mid summer I'll have cash for a real frame.

Any suggestions. Searching Pinkbike used is a new daily ritual.

Soul Cycles will have 6 or 7 inch trv freeride frame coming out in the near future.
me thinks it should be sub $600.00

Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

The things you find on the net.

Well, he wants it for the Shore and Whistler. I don't think a heavy frame will be a problem there. And if he does want to climb, the little extra weight will just make him stronger.

I agree with going for the Transition. I haven't heard anything but good stuff about their bikes and the company as a whole.

I saw that he wanted to put a granny gear on his bike, so I figured he was going to do a bit of climbing....

    How cheap is cheap?

In about a week, I will probably have a lightly used 2005 Mongoose Black Diamond frame for sale. It's 6.5" or 7.5" depending on how you set the shock (DHX 4.0). Pedals very nice for a big bike and it would include a front derailiuer and maybe for a couple bucks extra a two chainring guide.

It could, price depending, also come with a 2005 Boxxer Ride 130-178mm fork. Fork was rebuilt with a Stratos ID cartridge and ridden for about a month, rides much better than the factory build.

edit - Nevermind.,. It's a real man's bike and therefore is a size large.... If anyone else is interested, let me know. Due to the Gear Swap Price Police, it won't be posted on here before going to ebay.

define "very heavy" with respect to intended application and 170mm dual crown fork use, please.

    thank you.

A normal build on the Dirtbag is 43lbs while a normal build on the VPfree is 38lbs.

I think I should have used CHEAP 100X more times in my post.

I have found that Haro makes a bike similar to a Bullit the Werx7, last years X2 looks to be the same frame in a 1 1/8 head tube instead of 1.5. There are a couple cheap on ebay.

It's the knock offs similar to this and the old Weyless FR that I am looking far.

Yes it will get a dual front ring, I am not too worried about weight. I am light and have several wheel sets for different duties.

The rest of the parts will come from my assorted crap:
    Hayes El Camino's
    Ryno Lites
    Suntour XC pro thummies
    XT hollow tech cranks
xtr 9spd rear mech, xt from
    titec dh bars
    race face stem
    shimano clipless

Need to find deal on 170mm single crown also.

It's won't get built as a heavy duty DH FR monster. I am only 6ft and 175lbs. I rode a hardtail for many many years so I naturally pick a smooth line and tread lightly.

If I have to pay more than 600 canadian I'll just buy a beat up Norco from some local.

I would be scared to ride a cheap, beat up bike on the shore and at Whistler. Whistler destroys the best bikes out there.

Actually you should be able to get a cheap Kona Stinky frame pretty easily.

It doesn't have to last a long time. Just a short time.

Actually by the time Whistler opens I'll have cash to get something better. It's mostly just something to bash on the Shore till about June. Why I am leaning to single piviot.

So you gunna be up here agian this summer funken?

Just buy a beater Norco for now. You'll trash it but it'll still be good times. Late summer is the best time for pimp deals. Look on NSMB for all the usual crap; check head-tubes when buying norcos. A 170mm is overkill for you unless you're a big-boy hack

I'll second the Bullit. You can find them cheaper than anything, and it'll take the punishment that the Shore is going to deliver.
Remind me. We'll send him a red cap and a Speedo.

    Bargin hunters unite

Found a great deal on a used frame. 300cad.
02 Norco VPS Fluid, the 02 was designed as a FR bike. In the next few years after this the Fluid line was lightened up lots to make it more trail bike.

The kind people at Jenson have shipped my 66vf. Gunna be a fun bike.
