best alpine binding for vibram-soled boot?

I checked this thread (bottom), but the postings were inconclusive. Some folks said only alpine bindings with adjustable toe height and moving AFD plates would fit the bill for use with vibram-soled boots. Others said that's not true.

Anyone have any updated info or positive experience with an alpine binding & a vibram-soled boot?

    Thanks!

A sliding or rolling AFD will be key to actually releasing...Vibram will want to stick to anything that doesn't move.

The problem is that most moving AFD bindings (Look, Tyrolia) are "self-adjusting", which is to say they don't adjust. So you really have to try them with the boots in question to see if the toe height is compatible.

Does anyone make an alpine binding that is both adjustable and has a sliding/rollilng AFD? I can't think of one.

Next year's Solly x12 toe? I remember the sliding AFD got added, can't remember if they kept the adjustable toe height. I'll look tommorrow.

I have torque tested numerous Vibram soles in Salomons and had them all fall into the proper range. Just make sure to crank up the toe height.
Move along nothing to see here.

pretty much all the guides in alagna and a lot of the locals ski salomon's and touring boots on normal days. used to be mainly drivers, but last time i was there, a lot of them had sphericals too. i guess the other thing to mentions is that those guys don't fall much, so i don't think they're testing that release capability a whole lot, but i bet retention is good (probably better than touring binders).
