    Puerto Vallarta bound

Back in 7 days with (hopefully) lots of boobie pictures and no STD's.

Yep, seen this before. Crazy liquor & cheeseburger party got out of control.

Take a boat from the pier to Yelapa. A small beach village about 1 hour south by boat. We spent a week there, paragliding, drinking, relaxing. Plenty of cheap palapa's to stay in.

THE NUMBER ONE RULE TO HAVING FUN IN MEXICO:

Do NOT end up in jail. It ain't like the drunk tanks at home, believe me. Take Taxis.

Yelapa is sweet!! Definitely check it out....also, there are cool forest canopy zip line tours you can take. I took one two years ago and it was a blast...kinda touristy but fun.

That's where I learned how to surf. We avoided puerto vallarta and stayed in bucerias. The small towns and people within the small towns are awesome.

Have fun and watch out for the the HIV.

Fridge lives in the fine Canadian prairie province of Saskatchewan. Some of the drunk tanks there would make the ones in Mexico seem like a day spa.

(Not that I'm speaking from experience or anything.)

So they also try to extort as much money as possible out of you (on top of flat out stealing whatever cash you have on you) just to get out? Remind me never to go to Saskatch. At least the women are "semi-desnudo" and tequila cheaper than bottled water in MX.

    Heh.

I'm definately going to try my hardest to stay out of prison (maybe).

W_S (or anyone else), do they run surfing tours out of the resorts to Sayulita or anywhere else? I've never gone before and I really want to, but I'd prefer some place mellow where I'm not going to die.

Leaving in 10 hours, fucking pumped!

There are a ton of surf shops and rental places along the beach at Sayulita. I know lessons are offered and it wouldn't surprise me if tours were offered as well. When I went the waves were pretty mellow (intense to body surf though) and the rocks easy to avoid. The busride from Bucerias to Sayulita was a cultural experience... barefoot Mexicans with chickens in cages and baskets of fruit and stuff. I'm pretty sure it wasn't the tour bus we were supposed to take. I didn't care though.

Yelapa is definately the place you want to spend most of your time at while you're down there

    Photos from last week...

the beach and hotel we stayed at just outside Sayulita:

the break at Punta de Mita. this got crowded at the end of the day, but I was out there for 4 hours and the most people I saw on the entire lineup was about 4 plus one class of women surfers. At one point there was over an hour with 3 people, including me, on the whole break. It was like, you want this one? Nah...you go ahead, I'll get the next soooo cool Plus we were getting chest-high sets, but the waves broke nice and mushy so you never got worked too hard. So much fun.

p.s. there are lots of surf classes in Sayulita. only a couple places in Punta de Mita but I liked the laid back attitude at Mita better...Sayulita was a little too busy/dirty/new age/trustafarian for my tastes.
