I say tomorrow because you run the risk of spreading it to the masses Friday on....

If I had to choose between tomorrow and Friday, I'd probably take tomorrow. But who knows what will happen tonight. There's a nice 1-2" at the lake and it's super cold blower. But that might not be so great. Basically, it was cold and clear and then started snowing. This new layer might just sluff/slide right off. Who knows. Methinks I'll be taking a long lunch tomorrow to investigate.

Call the Kirkwood snow phone... or check the web-cam.

Tomorrow is gonna be better than Friday.

Snow over a holiday weekend gets scrubbed off so fast. Its depressing. Snow should fall on Tuesdays so we can have.....two days.

This shit's gonna slide right off the mountain. I live 3-4 blocks from the lake and just swept an inch and a half off my deck. Yes, swept. It's super light blower that couldn't stick if it tried.

SONAFOBITCH! Like Ty said, it's been dry and sunny all day down here. Wow... You could see some clouds hanging over the Sierras, but they looked pretty innocuous. Trippy...

NOAA's changed thier tune since this morning... and for the better!

    Hello Sliders!

Yes, skiers and riders, it's here. The President's three-day weekend, also known as the biggest ski weekend of the season. Our esteemed meteorologist, Mike Pechner, says that Tahoe skiers/riders can expect the best powder skiing in years this weekend, with super-light snow.

    ...

    *Mike Pechner's Weather Forecast
Up to five inches of fresh snow dropped Wednesday,
more on the way for Thursday night, Friday and Sunday afternoon. Alert Sliders! This will be the best light-powder skiing/riding weekend of the year. 1-2 feet of fresh over the weekend, cold temperatures, dress warm: Highs 20's lows in single digits.

    ...
And yet, Alpine reports only 1-2" in the last 24.

bout 4-6" of fluff at p-house this am that skied better then anticipated. butt-ass cold for tahoe w/ below zero temps last night and this morning. no sluffing or naturals to be seen anywhere but really there isn't that much snow to be of concern right now. however, if the forecast holds and we get a foot or more on top of this super light cold snow on top of the melt-freeze crust, things could be pretty dicey.

Unfortunately, it's supposed to blow. Literally, not metaphorically. Gusts into the 60s and 70s.

But in the pockets, it might be schweeet.

that's not enough. You need to buy some short SL skis so you can rip up the icy groomers.

    From the Kirkwood Forecast
    Friday February 17

    Precipitation:
Scattered snow showers - snowfall potential; 4 to 6 inches of snowfall accumulation is possible.

    Saturday February 18

    Precipitation:
Scattered snow showers - snowfall potential; 2 to 4 inches of additional snowfall accumulation is possible.
I don't care who the fuck it did it, but how does the weather forecast go from 12-14 inches on Saturday to 2-4 inches? What a shitty way to wake up.

Oh what the hell, I blame Freshies....

I guess that adds up to a foot = 2+5+3+1. I'm sure Tim Cohee will equate this storm to at least 2-3 feet of snow on the ground.

most precip to be north of 80, so the "Alpine Effect" trumps the "Kirkwood Effect" once again this season

Let's hear Cohee spin this one on the snow phone....

According to Reno NWS the majority of the weather will move south, as usual.
