Nice, Cross. I think we can safely say we're having a good year. We haven't hit 100" in early January since '97.
WWWOOOOOOOHHHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
BTW, for those keeping track at home, it took until March 18th last season to finally reach a 100" base at Alta. That's what a five-year drought does to ya...

You got your own measuring stick X? Alta website says 97".
110" at PowMow
100" at Brighton
95" at the 'Bird
90" SnowBasin
88" Canyons
84" Deer Valley
87" at Solitude
76" Sundance
77" at the Big Bad Beav
71" at Park City (Jupiter Stake)
49 " at Brian Head
Some of these are yesterdays, most today, ALL GOOD!
Saw that Basin was shut down late PM for lightening. Right now just got a call from Tremonten where a system is heading towards the Ogden Valley with lightening, hail, snow and BURLEY winds!
-Sorry 'bout hijacking an Alta thread with Basin crap X!

Honest truth: Don't get too excited about this storm tonight, too much warm air ahead of it (that explains the lightning, here in January)...it's going to be a fast moving frontal snow, then just showery behind it.
However, it opens to door to cold air for the next 2 storms, on Saturday and Sunday, so in sum-total, this will be another good one.
(is it possible to reverse-jinx a storm? I think I just may have.)
((I'm hung over and exhausted. Must go to sleep.))
Nice recap, Lumpy.Originally posted by Lumpy

49 " at Brian HeadThat's 12 of Utah's resorts. I skied number 13 (Nordic Valley) for the first time last week. Their base was reported as 80". Number 14 is Elk Meadows. It's the only one I've never been to. They haven't opened for a couple of years. I hear they might open this year, but it's not confirmed. Anyone know about their plans?

The quicky just dumped 2 inches of wet stuff on the ground in North Ogden in an hour...very wet!
