I gotta agree. Its pretty hard to ship skis for less than $20 and when they get long USPS doesn't like them and then the shipping gets outrageous. This is if you are in the lower 48 and I'm sure its mo expensive you your neck of the woods. That really isn't all that bad when you consider the length of the ski and where you live...

Shipping to Canada is ridiculous, even if its just a small item like goggles. They should seriously go to a new shipper for this, I haven't been able to buy anything because it'd be better to buy something on sale or even retail after shipping costs.

If you call, you might get some help. When I bought my Big Stix from backcountry.com they shipped USPS for about $18.

But $30 for shipping skis to AK is not bad - believe me. Backcountry Access charges that to ship 1 beacon to Juneau.

Shipping anything outside of the Continental US (CONUS) is expensive.

Come on man, you should know this - most things are more expensive in AK.

then tell me, how do you get this knowledge in comparing shipping rates to other destinations? from your extensive experiences of living outside AK?

oh wait, that's right, you've never lived anywhere else.

He meant shipping to AK from other places is reasonable, same with shipping to Canada from most places (although some other places rape you too) but shipping from S&C is A LOT higher than it should be.

S&C's prices for shipping to Canada are fucking out of control.

I would have ordered a ton of shit, but who pays $30 shipping for a $50 item?

It's worth it for skis or something else expensive, but otherwise they're just cutting out 32 million potential customers.
