    Next storm cycle???

OK...I track many of the weather models put out by NOAA and numerous University CPCs...not looking like much is on tap for the next two weeks for the West and PNW...this after a fairly anemic week past...I fear we may be in for a short season (La Nina). The intensity of January was impressive. Will the band keep playin' on into March and April? What is your crystal ball telling you?

latest models show a transition to a colder weather towards the end of next week with nice trough over the western U.S. I'm thinking there is a nice surge of mid-late February snows back into Cali....

January 2006 was the wettest month on record in Weat Glacier (breaking a record set in January 1950), it was also the warmest Janauary on record with an average temperature of 32 degrees. Personally, this is the best season I've had in 10 years. The snow has tapered off this week, but I just got back form skiing Red on Tuesday, 31 cm in 3 days, and the backcountry around the Whitefish rRange is incredible right now, best base I've seen in years. As for the rest of the season, it doesn't look good for the immediate future, but who knows.

February 9th and the season over??? Oh well it was fun while it lasted...

    The party's over
    A CD skipping
    It's the same hook repeating
Grows more grating with each passing second...

And the walls contain a resonation, laughter, and conversation.
It was fun while it lasted, but now we should be going.
I hope everybody had a real, real good time
The hospitality's partaken, my head is flying my heart's racing to keep up.
And I hope I haven't overdone it nooo...
I hope my body can take it. I hope I make the occasion.
    It's only this fucked up.
I start realizing all this living is just dying
and if these are my friends, if this is my home,
if this is how i spend my nights, how I communicate, and demonstrate a love of life.
My eyes roll into the back of my head, if these are the last words that I've ever said
No I'm not ready to die just yet

If the season is over it is probly my fault. I booked my room in whistler, the next day it stopped snowing. Last year I went to Utah and it dumped until 2 days before i got there. I went to the PNW last year, and that was my main trip for the year I had planed it well in advance and the season never took off until a few weeks after my trip.

This year I planed no major trips, and it has been the mildest winter in memory (in maryland). Now that I am planning to go to the PNW it is starting to get cold here (in maryland). Go figure.

I have angered ullr in some way. And for that I am sorry. I think i know the exact moment it happened too.

A good few years ago i was in JH and it had been dumping for a week there were face shots everywhere feet and feet of snow. there was no end in sight. And on the most impressive powder day in a string of impressive powder days I went up to a liftie and asked "Hey do you know where I can find some groomed black runs, I am really sick of all this snow?"

I was only kidding Ullr I am sorry. I love your work, please dont stop on the account of me... SORRY!!

But i am still comming out there and you cant stop me

Yah, it's a sad day when your local resort starts mentioining how nice their "high angle grooming" is and the term "softening" is used to try to make the daily snow report look enticing...

Think I'm off to the beach for some sand volleyball instead of the snow... I'll start making other plans that rely on sunny dry weather as that seems to usually take care of the weather...

Hey Buster, what do you mean by madeleines? Websters says they are a small rich cake shaped like a shell, French in origin. If you mean the brownies my buddy smuggled into Canada, then yeah I was pounding those all last week. If you you are talking about the cute girl from Quebec in Rossland, yeah I was pounding her too. If, by Medeleine, you meen sweet delicious powder, well I've been indulging in that as well.

Hey were you in B.C. lately, I thought that guy I met on the chair from Seattle might have been a maggot, but I didn't ask for change for a nickel.

You're dumb and I want you to go away.

Whoops, did I say that out loud? Must be the 140" base talkin'.
I can't understand why people are frightened of new ideas. I'm frightened of the old ones.
