I was really really into Al as well about that time. He was and still is definitely one on my guitar heroes. I do have to admit that style of late 70's jazz/fusion does sound mildly cheesy/dated to me now. I still throw them in every now and then and the guitar work still blows me away but honestly I'm not sure that the J/F movement really stood the test of time.
Now FRIDAY NIGHT IN SAN FRANCISCO...holy momma fucking ...that record is an absolute all time top ten gets better with age masterpiece. Al Di Meola, John McLaughlin and Paco De Lucia definitely too much awesomeness for a single record.![]()
