just for future reference since the original poster already got boots....Matt Sheets has been at Wildernest Sports for at least 7 years now and has been in the area longer, I worked there with him for a while. Kurt and Gov also do good work, but Matt definitely makes the best insoles in the area without a doubt (unless something big has changed since i left). his insoles are semi-weighted, not unweighted (again, unless he changed something).

Thread bumped for a similar situation in 2009.

Who's the go-to boot fitter in the Jackson area these days?
Why must I feel like that, why must I chase the cat?

Bumped again in 2011 to see if anything has changed... checking out where to go for boots as I transition from Alpine to AT. Thanks in advance for boot fitter suggestions

talk to bootsie (pepi's @ the alpenhof). currently the best for dealing with fit issues, insoles (dfp) & intuitions. not the best selection of AT boots, but if you know what AT boot you want and want to get it dialed (big thing: add intuitions right away), go see him.

do NOT size too big or get a "hiking fit" with your liner bake. big mistake.

    good luck!
