    189 Maden AK center mounted or 0 mounted

    Me --> 6' 2" and 190 lbs, ripping , skiing for decades
    My quiver: 189 Maden, 179 Vicious, 189 Vicious, 180 Explosiv, 186 Leg Pro, 179 Dynastar Skicross 10

    Madens will fit in your diagonal ski carrier on Dakine heli pak

    Softest ski I own; superb in powder at slow or at speed; will not dive
    Not as hard to turn as you'd imagine for the length and girth. Doable in bumps but you know that is not their forte

    Major drawback in my opinion is that once things get cut up here in the Sierras, I like a stiffer ski to get through the chopped heavier pow. The Maden will do it but I like the Vicious and other skis in my quiver better for varied snow. On a powder day I will take the Madens out for the morning and switch to another ski later on in the day. Not a one quiver ski.

    FYI, my go to ski is the Vicious, either 179 or 189.

    Hey, Jim S - Nice write-up.

    Any comments on the 179 v 189 Vicious? I've been thinking of picking up a pair for some mountaineering objectives and "firmer" days. I've been riding 190 Gotamas most of the season.

    I'm 5'11/175#. Was thinking of going short on the Vicious since I'd tour in them and likely use them on steep stuff, firmer days, and varied snow.

    Thanks.
