Squaw this week and weekend VALENTINE'S

    Anbody hit Squaw this week?

I've got a few days off and was wondering with this warmth and the base at 6500 feet and peaks at 8700 or so: is it total ice in the morning, 3 hours of mid-day slush, and then late afternoon ice?

I was there yesterday. More like 1 hour of light corn in the morning, four hours of slush, and two hours of waterskiing. Not huckable by any means, but still fun stuff. High was 59*.

Thank! I was fearing it would be death ice until 10am but those conditions are, while not dreamy, still fun. I'm definitely hitting it this weekend.

I skied for a few hours yesterday morning. We were planning on bullet proof, but the snow was really nice. There is still some nice chalk to be found on north facing aspects.

I had planned on blowing off the weekend, but yesterday changed my mind. April-like conditions, but much better than expected.

I was planning on Squaw for the weekend but I think I will go a littler higher to Kirkwood. Maybe I'll ride Fri - Alpine, Sat - Kirkwood, Sun - Squaw. Anyways, it will be warm and sunny

You guys aren't making it all that appealing to come down that way for my "reading" break. I hope it snows sometime soon!
    Believe.

trubs, its still super fun. i was out two days ago and there is lots of steep skiing that is fun. the snow is soft enough to move around. the palisades, while not perfect, are open and the turns were fun.

I must say, Squaw rules spring conditions. So many different aspects, and lots of S, SE, SW. KW has very little S facing aspects, and can suck unless it is really warm.

Love that run too. I'll be there for the next two weekends, as my grades are now in accord with my parent's expectations. Either that or my school hasnt updated its web grading service.
