Got owners: need a quick answer

Do these really ski short like everyone says? I thought the 183 would be right for me, 195 lbs-6 foot, but maybe a 190? Anybody about my size have any opinions on this? I normally find a 185cm ski to be plenty long.

Go with the 190cm. I have the 183 and I want something longer. The 183 skis like a 177. There is about an inch, inch and a half difference in running length bewteen the 184 Mantra and the 183 Gotama.

They do ski very short. I ski a 190 Got w/ Freerides & AT boots (Denalis). I am 5'11" & 175# (not including gear).

The tail is huge; the running surface is about the same as a 185 pocket rocket, and just a touch longer than a 180 explosiv.

The ski is light for its size.

If you're skiing a big mountain, i recommend getting the 190. If skiing small lines, smaller hills, maybe the 183 is the choice.

Do you intend for this to be your go-to ski, or a quiver ski?

For reference I got mine in mid-December and have put about 40+ days on them. I'm surprised at their versatility, even on firm days.

They do carve on groomers, albeit the turns are very large.

I'm 5'9", have the 183s and think they're just about perfect.

Well, I'm the proud new owner of 2006 190 Gots. Gotten for $479 at REI. I hear Seattle, Redmond, and Saratoga stores still have some.

Of course, through a series of complicated and clever purchases and returns to REI, my out of pocket cost is about $200, but with $144 left over in store credit.

Looks like he went with the 190s......good find. Bossass congrats, i love mine.......but i must admit i'm skiing the lame 176s. But i do a lot of tight tree stuff and i'm only 5'8". After a few weeks out west however, i wish i went with the 183, which i might try to pick up for next season. But gots are gots, they rip so i'm just happy to be on them. The 190s will treat you very well, enjoy.

reminds me of my college days when kroger used to have 3x coupon days and i'd buy a bunch of food and they'd actually give me money (obviously they're normally not allowed to do so, but were too stupid to realize) to take food out of the store

For what it's worth, my 183's are about 3 centimeters shorter than my 181 AK Launchers.

My sentiments exactly; 5'9", 175 lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal.

i just don't have the extra coin right now to have a new 190 goat - and whenever we do get some snow on anything it's usually packed down by the cats immmmmmediately, leaving the tight trees as the only refuge for the powdery stuff; where i really like the 183 length. might be on the look out for a used 190, my only hope.
