"US corporations are picking up the pace in shifting well-paid
technology jobs to India, China and other low-cost centres, but
they are keeping quiet for fear of a backlash," reports David
Zielenziger. "Morgan Stanley estimates the number of US jobs
outsourced to India will double to about 150,000 in the next three years.
Analysts predict as many as two million US white-collar jobs such as programmers, software engineers and applications designers will shift to low cost centers by 2014." But the companies using 'offshoring' to cut costs -- including Microsoft, IBM, AT&T, Wall Disney, CNN and Fox News -- aren't talking about it publicly. "The problem is that companies aren't sure if it's politically correct to talk about it," said Jack Trout, a principal of Trout & Partners, a marketing and strategy firm. "Nobody has come up with a way to spin it in a positive way."

Welcome to Corporate Globalism. George Bush says the corporations are the only way out of this economic failure. What a dude...flying onto aircraft carriers and all.

Agreed. Although I understand Ice's position, I find the exodus of middle class jobs to other countries where labor is cheap scary because so many low paying jobs here are funnelled to immigrants that have come into the US. Just seems that in the past, an American could start a company here, hire local people, provide insurance and security in a long term sense and people could make a decent living. Sending the money overseas seems to perpetuate a bigger division of the classes in America - the end result of which will come back to bite everyone as it moves America into a second class status in the world while taxes to keep the government and military running will eat away at the meager incomes left for those here. Like a fifedom of old. Is it that we became so prosperous, the unseen forces of power have simply found a formula to suck that wealth into their pockets to gain even greater control? Is it the greatest heist in history on a global scale? Yeah, I know - conspirarcy theorist.
