It snowed at my house today. Not much, a couple of inches of slop. The cedars hung low and my son was excited. "no" he said over and over. So, at dawn before work, I walked him down our drive and back up. We made snowballs, licked snow off branches and stared at the stuff.
When I had to drive to work, I couldn't drive over his footprints in the snow. I can't quite explain the tears that welled up.
