I'm confused. Does an analog beacon pick up a digital? I just bought a Barryvox and it supposedly picks up digi and ana. so does this mean that it also emits an analog signal too? Will my buddy's old pieps pick up my new Barryvox?

All beacon transmissions are analog. All reception is analog. It is the signal processing that is digital or analag (or both with a barryvox). So yes they will all pick each other up.

More on the barryvox. It can be programmed to just use analog or digital or combine analog and digital. Read the manual and practise
