Just talked to the good Doctor. He took a look at the MRI results, and says that I have a very, very bad bone bruise. The Radiologist is calling it a fracture.

The orthopod is a skier, so he understands my plight. He gave me the all-clear to ski in two-three weeks. If I fall in the same way again within those two-three weeks, I WILL fracture my knee very severely. So it looks like I'll be waiting three weeks.

As you can imagine, I am really happy with this news.

Seattle maggots: If you hurt your knee, try to see Dr. Scott Hormel. He is a very good, very thorough, and very nice doctor who appreciates the wants, desires, and needs of skiers. If you can't see him, see Dr. Larry Holland, who is also really good (but doesn't ski).

    Thanks for the support, maggots.

Now find a book or three and keep the PT going, you will be glad you kept your muscle strength.

I think that is what is up with my ankle. And I think the day I was out with GT40 and MOE at Basin and hit a snowsnake, and it "popped", I think I broke it. It was really badly bruised before that and I just hurt it again. I have broken a few bones and this did feel like a break. That was in late October and I am still having too much pain. Guess I'll heal in the spring.

I got a great picture if anyone want to be grossed out again.

Heal up Sammy. Then may want to stay on the ground for a little bit too. I doubt you want to hurt again.

    Good luck man!!!

BTW, get someone to take some pics of you on skis, we want to see some slutage!! (and not from the row boat )

Hey there Sammy - take it easy dood. You know I crushed my knee (tibia plateau) in April '02. I was back skiing 8 months later (summer break and all). Doc always said it was better I broke something rather than tear something since the bone will heal stronger.

Other doc recs: Arm/Hand - Dr. Buckmiller (Stevens Patroller). Knee/Leg - Dr. Morris (Sports Medicine specialist). Both at Virginia Mason.

No painkillers. It was recommended that I take Advil.

Whatever though. I'm just stoked that I will be out there hucking myself again in short order. I might just set my DIN a little lower though.

sammy, you're a lucky young man. Heres to being back on the slopes before the end of January! You might want to turn down the huckage meter for awhile though and let that knee get good and strong again.

This is good news. Before you know it, three weeks will have passed lickity split. Take care, mang.
