A little help with a potential Smokey and the Bandit type mission

I have found the ski van of my dreams in Denver, but I live in Portland. I need to go get it, and since my boss is out of town all this week, I'd like to get that done this week. Here's the assistance that I'd appreciate:
    - tips on cheapest last minute airfare from Portland to Denver
    - tips on best route to Portland without 4wd (van has 4wd but needs slight repair)
    - tips on getting from Denver Airport to central Denver via public transport

Also, anybody who wants a ride is welcome, this is a Toyota cargo van. Should be leaving Wednesday late day and arriving in Portland as close to Friday morning as possible.

    here is my .02.

as far as a cheap ticket. Southwest(if you have them) are the cheapest if you are buying a ticket for travel in less than 14 days. If you can't use southwest....good luck, but 700-1000 dollars could be made up in the money you will make from the van.

As for a route I would first guess 70w to 15n to 80w to 5n. Just a guess. Not sure if going 25n to 80w would be quicker, my guess is not.

as for getting your truck in Denver. EDIT: going back and reading you said central denver which I would assume is near the downtown area. start with this link http://www.flydenver.com/gt/index.asp I'm in Aspen so I can't, but maybe a Denver Mag can give you a ride.

    good luck

Alaska will get you into Denver at 10AM on Wednesday for $278. There have to be better deals somewhere, but for a last minute gig, this ain't too bad.

Greatb plan, but I need to be in Portland for some of the weekend and the weather looks warm and sunny the whole time I'm on the road.

All others, thanks, this is coming together.
If I fly into Denver late at night, can I sleep in the airport without major hassle?

i don't think you can sleep at the airport anymore. but i am not sure of that. There are many hotels on tower rd that could handle your needs prob for less than 60 bucks. Free shuttle from the airport as well. while writing this, if that is the case (you arriving late) pick a hotel near your new truck. they prob have an airport shuttle. then you solved both problems.

airport bar + sleeping bag + corner of quiet terminal = free hotel
