I think it's an equipment problem. If you don't have a gun that can be mounted in position while the car is moving, you can't sit there and try to gun people while you should be driving.Originally Posted by Tippster

I believe the difference is that PA troopers aren't willing to pull a Dukes of Hazzard manuever across the median to "whip a shitty" and come after you ... WV troopers on the other hand live for it.Originally Posted by PaSucks

That, plus most medians in this state seem to be jersy barriers.Originally Posted by YoEddy

Yesterday - Sunday 2/5
Loveland Pass
Whiteout conditions with 40+ MPH winds, snow and blowing snow snowpacked road with occassional black ice exposed by wind.
1) Large Semi trailer truck driving up the pass
2) CDOT Snowplow plowing and dumping sand following behind Semi (picture 7' tall steel plow)
3) Guy in Red Pathfinder following Snowplow closely (as sand is spread)
4) Me following 100' back content to just get up for another waist deep run.
Red Pathfinder not content with position tries to pass both plow and semi around a blind corner - oncoming traffic suddenly comes HEAD ON COLLISION DANGER!!!- pathfinder dodges in front of snowplow to get out of way. Then tries to pass again on the next blind corner - same result HEAD ON COLLISION DANGER!!!. Ice suddenly causes pathfinder tires to spin, pathfinder sliding all around, seriously in DANGER of getting hit by snowplow.
Pathfinder pulls of to side of road on narrow pullout covered in 2'+ of snow.
Fucking Idiot!!!
It's a recent law, and it has enough exceptions to ensure that it can never make a difference (for example, it doesn't apply when the traffic is heavy, like on I-70 in the mountains on any weekend).Originally Posted by MarsB

smitchell's post: Now that is the definition of an idiot driver
I drove the pass yesterday and those were not the right conidtions to pass anyone!
I was driving from Abasin over the pass around 12:00 pm yesterday and there was a silver Jetta stuck around that second really sharp corner. White out conditions made it even more dangerous. The people with vehicles not equipped to drive into the mountains are idiots also. I felt bad for the guy though.

Sounds a little ambiguous. How does one define heavy?Originally Posted by jrbd

The law says:Originally Posted by Below Zero
So it's really kind of vague. What does "safely" mean, anyway?A person shall not drive a motor vehicle in the passing lane of a highway if the speed limit is sixty-five miles per hour or more unless such person is passing other motor vehicles that are in a nonpassing lane or turning left, or unless the volume of traffic does not permit the motor vehicle to safely merge into a nonpassing lane.
Oh, yeah, and I think the only time they use it is to pull over suspected drug-mule cars anyway: http://www.thedenverchannel.com/news...70/detail.html

I don't think your wrx ego can handle getting owned by an 8,000 pound pickup truck.

It's not my fault that your gas guzzling, polluting pickup truck (probably high sulfur diesel) handles at 50mph the way my car handles at 100mph on snow
That being said...There are bad drivers in trucks, SUV's, and cars. Of course, I consider a bad driver one that doesn't know how to drive well (there's a lot more to throttle, brakes, and, shifting than just those 3 things), isn't aware of what's going on around them, and puts other people at risk. So basically Americans![]()
How many of you have been involved in 1 or more fatality accidents? Do you have million or more miles behind the wheel. Driven coast to coast. Shifted a vehicle that has more than 5 or 6 gears and weight more than a few tons. Start to thin a few drivers out? Fucking amateurs.
I don't do nearly enough speed to be a truck driver.
