It's not the blower, nor tit deep but we've got 29" as of late and Wolf has had 181" total and 30" in the last week, no snorkeling but it ain't half-bad either. Definitely not deep enough for no DTM epic-sized drops for sure.

I'm hoping that Utah and Wyoming will get so much snow that it will end up overflowing into Colorado. That's our only chance.

Anyway, sometimes Ullr brings the fight to you, and sometimes you bring the fight to Ullr. I'll be in the Alta parking lot bright and early Friday morning.

[reality] It is a pretty typical year so far dood. December and early January tend to be very dry. A good time to avoid Summit County all together, plenty of powder skiing in the BC. Go check some Snotel plots and compare to years past. The snowiest months are March, Feb, April, January, November, December in that order. Get in your car, drive west and quit bitching.

yeah ive thought about making the pilgrimidge to alta myself, but my shrinking wallet (courtesy of the present buying season) will not allow me to wander down debt road.

Wish I had put more thought into the repurcussions of buying soaps for peoples girlfriends and such.

Enjoy alta...who knows... if one of my skis sells maybe I can join you.

BTW...2 pairs of rossi axioms for sale and 1 pair of AK rocket pilots brand new. Help a brother afford the trip!!!!

Maybe you ought to change the topic to " What the hell is going on with Summit County's snow????" We're doing just fine over here in Western CO.

the general consensus is that it doesn't snow much in colorado till mid winter through spring. Seems like more of the same to me. Have patience or go to Utah.

Yeah, I know.. Actually, I am bummed about Summit Co. I got a Loveland and 5 mountain pass because I planned on skiing a bunch over there. I've only made two trips over there so far - one early season day and the day of the Crackhouse Spectacular. Oh well... At least I still got my passes over here.

Said a different way, if Utah had any whitewater (not canyon trips) worth boatin' I'd live there. And, my best friends in the world live here. Thats worth more than I sometimes give credit.

    Thumbs up

...WINTER STORM TO IMPACT WESTERN COLORADO AND EASTERN UTAH
    BEGINNING THURSDAY NIGHT...

A VIGOROUS WINTER STORM SYSTEM WILL HIT WESTERN COLORADO AND EASTERN
UTAH THURSDAY NIGHT AND CONTINUE INTO SATURDAY. THIS STORM WILL
BRING HEAVY SNOW TO ALL THE MOUNTAINS. ACCOMPANYING THIS WINTER
STORM WILL BE HIGH WINDS OVER THE MOUNTAIN PASSES AND EXPOSED AREAS.
THE COMBINATION OF HEAVY SNOW AND HIGH WINDS WILL CAUSE BLIZZARD
CONDITIONS WITH EXTENDED PERIODS OF WHITEOUT CONDITIONS.

FOR THE VALLEYS OF WESTERN COLORADO AND EASTERN UTAH...SNOW WILL BE
LIKELY WITH MODERATE ACCUMULATIONS POSSIBLE. THE WINDS WILL NOT BE
NEARLY AS STRONG AS IN THE HIGH COUNTRY...BUT BRISK WINDS WILL
ACCOMPANY COLD TEMPERATURES AND SNOW BY FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND
    EVENING.

THIS WILL BE A DANGEROUS WINTER STORM FOR PEOPLE PLANNING TRAVEL AND
OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES. WHILE IT IS UNCERTAIN AT THIS TIME ON HOW MUCH
SNOW WILL FALL...AND HOW STRONG THE HIGH WINDS WILL BE OVER THE
MOUNTAIN PASSES...TRAVELERS AND OUTDOOR RECREATIONALISTS OUGHT TO BE
PREPARED FOR DANGEROUS WINTER CONDITIONS FOR THURSDAY NIGHT...
    FRIDAY...AND SATURDAY.

    Unhappy

I'm getting a little bummed for my 1/10 & 1/11 CO visit. The coverage at Kirkwood is just so damn good right now.

    Lightbulb

Quit all your bitchin' and whining! I've had more pow days so far this year than I did at this time last year. Like Foggy said, just get off the beat Summit county resorts and make a trip into the backcountry with some friends. Haven't had one below-knee deep pow day in the bc yet this season.

Those who have patience will be rewarded. It will come.
