Anyone? How is it up there? I'm assuming all of the South got killed with the rain but how are MRG Bush Stowe Smuggs??

For sure, you have to be lost to find a place that can't be found, elseways everyone would know where it was
talked to a very drunk basom yesterday, he said it poured most of the day at jay, before changing to snow. they got 2" but are reporting hardpack and frozen granular.
I hit K-town on Sunday and Jay on Monday. Spring skiing under bluebird skies both days. Some bare spots at K but pretty good coverage on most of the trails. Had a binding problem early in the morning (screws came loose and it came completely off the ski at top speed near the bottom of Bear - best possible place for that to happen but still scared the crapola out of me).
Jay was sweet - Green Beret was the best run of the day. A little scratchy but still plenty of snow up there. Jet was closed all day, though. I guess they were having problems with the chair.
Oh great. Rain at Jay. Happy friggin New Year.
BOS-SLC on america west, leaving 830pm tonight. $375 after fees and taxes. and you'll have a ride from the airport and a place to stay.

Smuggs is ok but we are in need of some new snow. Had some rain yeasterday, but not to bad(if that is even possible for this time of year). Snow pack should hold up but it won't be anything to write home about. VT needs snow badly.

Sorry for this post from over yonder, but it's what you requested.
As for me, I'm going mt. biking in Long Island today.
Yeah, I passed about 50 roadies on my way home this morning.
it was hard pack, the bumps were not so bad but also unforgiving at times. There was about a 200 ft. section of the chute that was buttah, but the rest of it was exposed rock/moss and some hard ass bumps. First day of the season and I was with my girlfriend so we just took it easy, lotta cruisers. The first few corners on antelope were fuckin fun as hell at high speed. all in all not a bad day, it kinda snowed all day but it was lame tiny flakes with zero accumulation. Thinking of maybe driving up to Jay peak tomorrow so I'm really hoping somebody who was there today chimes in on this thread!!!!! I gotta call cantdog and see what his deal is. Looked for him all day at MRG but nobody had change for a nickel. he musta been at sugarbush me thinks.
I'm going to do an impromptu dance/chant/prayer to Ullr while drinking sweet sweet Trout River Rainbow Red Ales...damn these things are tasty!!!!
thats new hampshire as fuck
We ain't eager to be legal, so please leave me with the keys to your Jeep Eagle.
Stowe is still good, but the Gotamas haven't touched snow in a week or two. Sounds like other hills have had a good bit more rain than us. 15" on the 26th helped a lot, I think that stuff was rain for most of the mountains.
didnt ski today. went extreame snowshoeing at willoughby gap. wednesday was very hard with about 2" of fresh in places. supposedly they got some more snow today and maybe a little more over night. jay gets pretty brutal on groomer days cause there are only like 5 of them, so the gaper pinball is severe. the woods were skiable, but very fast. white knuckle bump skiing in trees with fresh pockets in the ruts. hopefully those pockets are a little deeper tomarrow.Originally posted by vinzclortho

out of all of this crap wether we finally got a dusting of fresh snow. Smuggs got about 2-4 inches maybe six over the lst couple days. Skied today with mrs. vinman and had a good time except for the blown edge on my main pair of skis. Not good. Unfortunately the weather does not look good for the weekend.

epic- good to see you still around. Are the trees still decent? We're on break from school right now, but before I came home SkiJunky and I had one of the best days we've ever had at Stowe. Untracked down national to liftline and the trees were ridiculously deep and no one was out since it was a thursday. I'll post once we get back.
Went to wildcat on December 28th and it was warm, but condions were hard pack/ice.compared to VT. Snowshoed on the 29th to the Gulf of Slides and it was like 50 degrees and sunny. Good for being out and about on Washington but crap for base building. The next day drove by Cannon and it was raining and the mtn looked horrible, not much open.
VT seems to be fairing the best from this current weather, I skied so much pow at Stowe the last few weeks I didn't know what to do with myself. Good thing I'm headed to Jackson soon.
Hey JMO, I was at Jay on Monday too. Skiing in a black Giro full face helmet and a gray t-shirt on a pair of PR's with khaki pants. Maybe we saw each other. I good day overall, Green Beret was pretty sick, I have to return when the snow is better. However, I did get on the first tram of the day, which was kool.

went to mt. snow today, what a mistake.
It was a frickin mad house, but it's not like I expected any different.
They had about 2 inches of fresh on top of ice. The morning was good, but the freezing rain/mist kicked in before lunch and stayed like that and really foggy for the rest of the day.
There were freakin gapers galore. It was unreal.
If you didn't make it out today though, I wouldn't bother until we get at least 6 inches of new snow because the rain this weekend will kill what little they had. Starting friday though, It's supposed to get really cold, and then hopefully it will snow.
Major cold front coming in, temps in single digits. At least the snow guns will fire up.
Just got in from a week at Sugarbush, it was great...then crappy...then ok....then pretty good. The rain definately hurt, and so did the subsequent freeze. Basically all snow they did blow during the cold period got pushed down the mountain after 11 am 'cause it was too cold until today for it to stick to anything deeper down. Yesterday we got a surprise 3 inches, which made things pretty nice, especially on the sides. A few days ago the whole mountain was incredible, 50 degrees and sunny, it was a nice little glimpse at spring skiing. Oh yeah, the slide brook has been closed the past few days, which stinks, but North has been really empty, which is nice.
Lets pray for snow, I hear somethings coming m/t/w.
Thursday-Shelburn Trail (sp)
Some waterbars on the skin up. Light snow most of the day. Didn't make it into the bowl since the wind was blowin 30 @ HoJoes with peak of 100 up top. On the ski down, the trail had some good pockets of wind blown and was nice up top. Some spots were completly blown off to solid ice. A few death cookies here and there. Not bad though. Skied right to the car. Lots of hikers w/o skis. Why?
Friday- Wildcat
Hit the chair around 8:30, nice fast cord. Started snowing @ 9:30ish. They picked up a few inches, but I think most of it blew off. place was smokin till 11:30ish when the crowds got out and skied everything off. Didn't hit the trees since I was teleing. Bagged it at 1. Just not worth skiing ice with 30 people you don't know.
Freezing rain this morning. I headed home. Now to heal my aching calfs.
My brother and I are going to be up there tomorrow, then probably boucing around different places all next week.Originally posted by laseranimal

Me - Grey/black north face coat, probably skiing orange bandits, black giro visored helmet
Brother - Blue marmot coat, blue concepts, black boeri helmet
I've never skied at all in the east (just moved here yesterday), so tomorrow will be my de-virginizing. Keep an eye out.

Hmm, Sunday at MRG? How did the rain treat it today? If it sounds half way decent I might just have to drive up and kill it with some mags.
Skiied in the rain at Stowe today. It was awesome on the groomers. Limitless grip. My legs hurt.
Snowrider - haven't been in the woods in a week or so. I went out to the bench a week or so ago, but didn't have time to traverse any farther, so cam e sraight down from there. Coverage was good, but of course it was all bumps. I should've been on the slalom boards and not the Gotamas.
Hoping for the best on Monday. Looking forward to skiing with you this year.
I've been up at K-mart for the past 8 days......not terrible if you know where to look, poached the trees off double dipper numerous times but by the end of the week they actually dropped the rope.....was really great when the 2-3 inches fell....if anyone saw a stickered up grey helmet and tan pants that was me......
good to hear everyone is getting some, or atleast trying....
