    Grizzly Man-Tonight Discovery Channel

Just thought I would throw this out there to those who aren't going out on a Friday night (this college student isn't *gasp*). Grizzly Man is coming on the Discovery channel, 7PM Central, not sure everywhere else.

I saw it once before, thought it was a pretty good movie. Whatever you want to say about this guy, Timothy Treadwell, he did have a pretty sweet thing going for those 13 years. The movie is about 1:45 long. 45 minutes have absolutely beautiful footage in them. I've backpacked up there before and it brought back some good memories. There is about 15 minutes worth of Timothy's problems & self destruction in front of the cameras. The other 45 minutes is the weird people that Herzog interviews, a combination of people from his life and people involved with his death. Some of them are interesting, others are flat out weird.

Anyway, I liked the movie enough to watch it again tonight, if anyone else is bored, fire it up and check it out. It's definitely better than the NBA or American Idol or whatever other crap TV plays.

I rented it, only to find out when I got home that it was on discovery all weekend long. Renting it was the right choice. Lots of swearing near the end of the movie. It would've been less crazy if it was censored.

I knew from watching the trailers that it was going to be interesting in "woah, this guy's fucked up" way, but I also thought it would be really interesting in a "woah, that's cool" or "woah, that's neat" way too. Not so much; mostly in the "fucked up" way. Great scenery though. All of the people were weeeeeeeeeeird. One would think it was a christopher guest movie if they didn't know any better.

Favorite part was when they were talking about his childhood, how he had all these pet squirrels and teddy bears and shit. Then they cut to a shot of a sign that reads "pansy farm". Classic.

I think maybe the guy was gay and struggled with it and coming out. His "girl problems" seemed legitimate, but at the same time it just seemed like he had a serious identity problem. I think it would've been interesting if they brought a psychologist in.

    Intersting movie but...

FUCK THE DISCOVERY CHANNEL FOR HAVING MORE COMMERCIAL THAN MOVIE

I swear, they would play less than 5 minutes of the movie then go right into 5 minutes of commerical. I'm sorry but a 1 to 1 ratio is just not right. It made it almost unwatchable.

I gave up after a while - ads were driving me insane.

It's a pity that for all his dedication and love of the animals he didn't achieve anything but a movie documenting his craziness.

Consider all of the people who will be now be inspired to go "grizzle stalking". Fattening up on those benighted souls oughta help the bears get off of the endangered species list, eh?

Love how that friend (who's supposed to be an actor) didn't even face the camera.
