    Nice work Grizz!!!!!!!!!

Someone should tape your run tomorrow, then send me the footage. I'll host it.

I'm touring tomorrow, otherwise I'd love to see it go down.

Yowsa!! So awesome to see all the stoke and support from the maggots. I just have the results in paper format, so I can't really post them quite yet. Here's some quick stats though.

81 guys competed. 36 made the cut.
24 girls competed. 15 made the cut.

Super stoked for Silver Fox tomorrow. I don't really know it super well, so you best believe I'm gonna be taking an inspection run (if possible). Tomorrow should go off, and I imagine there will be a whole new level of intensity. Booyeah!!!

    silver fox advancing directions =

top air (dropping from inbetween 1st and 2nd entrance gates) hitting towards skiers right- about 15 feet.
    take a hard left into
north chute with tons of speed.
air the bottom on skiers left- about 15 up, 30 out- at least.
hard-ish right, air off the scrub brush area skiers right, to point it out the flats.

That should get you to the finals.

First off, congrats Grizz! See ya on competitor's tram at 8am.

I also would like to comment on the crash, which I witnessed from as close as possible, right in the finish area of the Tower 3 venue. If anyone is familiar with the area, they guy pointed it from halfway down the run toward the large cliff band at the bottom skier's left of that pitch. What most people were hitting straight off as a pretty blasy double, this guy tried to clear cross-hill as a single stager. It would have been about a 45 foot drop with something like 90 feet of carry since he came so hard cross-fall line, BUT. The big peak of rock that caps the second set of cliffs stood a foot too tall for him to clear.

He had already been in the air for long enough for the crowd to start cheering, and then he took this impact with that rock SO hard with both feet, and it flipped him into two full frontal ariel cartwheels as he cleared the last 20 feet of rock and landed basically seated. It was so fucking gnarly. I saw his skis on my way out of there and they were both absolutely exploded infront of the toe bindings.

Seeing that crash made me sick to my stomach and I can still vividly recall the images of what happened. Sorry to bring you all into this experience, but I gotta work it through somehow. My heart goes out to the skier, he is going to have a long hard road ahead of him.

Be carefull out there Grizz. KNOW YOUR LINE.

ROIGHT ON GRIZZZLE! NOICE! they're addictive, watch out. inspect the hell out of your lines, and be ridiculously early for inspection, etc. helps me feel really calm. don't forget to whoop and roar like chewbacca out of the starting gate.

hey, helps me blow off the steam and focus [/sheepish look]

    nice job, way to qualify!

congrats Grizz! Who are you? And who out there are maggots? I probably talked to some of you today- I was there, I was one of the lucky ones who stayed up at the bird last night so I got to run while everyone was out in the canyon. The changing venue really threw me (and lots of other people) for a loop. But it all turned out really well- It was my first comp too and I couldn't be happier for how it turned out! Now I'm once again rediculously nervous for tomorrow.

I too saw the crash from the finish. It was soooo bad, made me sick to my stomach. It was the worst thing I have ever seen on skis.

Good luck everyone tomorrow, and be careful out there! I am the girl in green/red/maroon with a white fullface. Say hi if you see me!

I'm pre-qualified this year so I got to skip today. By the way the tongue sticking out was to everyone not riding 8am "inspection" trams. Just in case, you know, if the gloating wasn't obvious enough.

hey fineline, HELLS YEAH GIRL! kick ass for you too! i wasn't sure if you were competing and since no one was running in order and we were all late from sitting on the road i never got a chance to check out any start order for athlete names.

if any of you guys (i.e. grizz or fineline with results) are awake, could you possibly let me know how Lindsey McIntyre, Julie Connard and Stacy (?) something (from Alta I think) finished? pretty pleeeeease?

3 mags in the finals. Hot damn.

If finelines tee's it up tomorrow, we'll have to revive the pole to make sure the TGR boys noticed.

Splat... need something to write for the next issue?

    Lynx--
Lyndsay McIntire was the last one to make the cut. Julie Connard finished 16th (didn't make it) and I don't see a Stacy from Alta. I'm hittin' the sack. See yous all tomorrow!! Booyeah!!

Rock on maggots and maggettes. Good luck tomorrow! It's got to be more fun than talking to 375 1st - 5th graders which I get to do tomorrow.
