SLC / Seattle mags, who fixed your knee?

well, because of insurance reasons it looks like it will make more sense to drive to seattle or SLC to get my knee fixed. I really like my doc, but my health insurance has no network here so I will have to pay all the charges over what the insurance calls 'reasonable and customary'. which basically means thousands out of my pocket.

I figure it will cost me less to drive out and hopefully stay with friends for a few days. At first i thought it would be a good idea to get my messed up shoulder fixed at the same time, but then realized i would need crutches for a while for the knee.

so what do you say, who are the best knee docs in slc and seattle?

Mike Morris at Virginia Mason Seattle did scoober's knee. Chuck Creveling was the Physician's Assistant that we saw at all of the appointments. We obviously saw much more of Chuck, and he was excellent. Both Morris and Creveling work together in the OR, and the VM physical therapy folks are top notch.

Lots of people around here like Peter Mandt at Overlake Hospital in Bellevue because of personal experiences and his affiliation with the US Ski Team. My friend had her knee done twice by him and doesn't care much for him. I'll keep my mouth shut on commenting what I've seen professionally.

PM me if you need more info.

Dr. Parkin at Alta View has worked on both of my knees.

    Thanks guys.
My ortho here gave me all the insurance codes for the procedures he does and what he charges for them so I can see how much it will cost. Hopefully he isnt all that much more than what my insurance will pay.
