How to make a Tracker stay in "return mode"?

When turning on a BCA Tracker you can choose between the default "No return to send" and the "Return to send" mode by holding the red button down as you turn it on. I prefer to allways have the automatic return activated, but find it a bit annoying to activate it every single time as I the beacon has to be taken out of the harness. Do anyone know how to make the Tracker stay in the return mode?

I quess that the choice of a non returning default setup is made according to the Trackers main feauture simplicity, but the knowledge that the beacon will switch over to send mode gives me a more secure feel.

Per the manual at BCaccess.com, it doesn't look like there's a permanent way to switch it to "return to TX" mode after 5 minutes on SEarch. Just the "current session" method you are using (pressing the red button on power up.)

This makes sense from an ergonomics/human factors point of view since most users would want it to stay in search while searching and probing and that can easily take more than 5 minutes.

You could leave it in the default mode most of the time, and only switch to the "return to Send" mode when confronted with a nasty rescure situation that exposed you to higher than normal risk from a hang-fire. That would be one more thing to try and remember though.

Good runs when you get them.

You can set the Barryvox to return to send after 4 minutes, 8 minutes, or never. It beeps loudly for the last 20 seconds to remind you to hit a button if you want it to stay in search mode. If you set it to "never", an icon stays on the display to remind you. The factory default is 8 minutes.

(That probably wasn't very helpful of me. But if a sticky return-to-send setting is an important feature for you, it's worth considering.)

Does the X1 or Pieps DSP have a way to set this?
