    I would probably want to speak with her mom...but only if the young girl was hot.

    It happened on the bunny hill, she ran over the kids skis, he went balistic.

    The girl said she was glad she had the helmet on.

    Something's wrong with your link, here it might be. Someone else said what would the outcome be if it was a 16 year old *dude* snowboarder hitting the little girl. I don't think you can translate it. I think it would be a little more likely that a 16 year old dude would be going faster and being more reckless. Call me sexist, but if a 16 year old girl hit someone, I would be more inclined to think that is was an honest mistake rather than a dude being more likely to be straightlining something totally out of control.

    The only way I could see this kind of violence justified in either case would be if the person who collided with the other person tried to turn it around and say that it was the other persons fault, and or if they tried to get away without giving an id (and only if there were serious injury)

    There was no serious injury, and the girl was not trying to run, and she was a girl! Throwing punches at a girl?!?

    Those who say they think it is justified to hit a 16 year old girl for a minor accident must be warped. Buy some prozac please.

    Teen assaulted on mountain

    Matt Stensland

    Tuesday, January 31, 2006

    STEAMBOAT SPRINGS — A 52-year-old Littleton man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of repeatedly punching a 16-year-old girl in the head and neck after a collision at Steamboat Ski Area.

    Police Capt. Joel Rae said the 16-year-old Steamboat Springs girl said she was snowboarding down Headwall ski trail when she ran over the skis of an 8-year-old girl. Both girls were knocked to the ground.

    Randell Berg, the father of the 8-year-old, saw the collision and confronted the 16-year-old, Rae said. At that point, Berg is thought to have punched the teenager several times in the head and neck and to have shouted profanities at her, Rae said.

    The 16-year-old told police she was wearing a helmet, and she was not seriously injured. She said she was sore from the alleged attack.

    Witnesses intervened and restrained Berg, police said. Witnesses also confirmed the 16-year-old's story, police said.

    Rae said police interviewed Berg before arresting him. Berg told police that after he made sure his daughter was OK, "he just lost control when his daughter got hit," Rae said.

    The accident occurred near the base of the ski mountain, where Steamboat Springs police have jurisdiction.

    Rae said he has never heard of such an incident.

    "We have fights all the time, but this is ridiculous," Rae said.

    Berg was taken to Routt County Jail and booked on charges of third-degree assault and disorderly conduct. He was released Monday on $1,000 bond. He is scheduled to appear in Routt County Court on Feb. 14.

    What I don't get is if they're apologizing, and stuff it shouldn't be a big deal. It's not like she ran into the child and bowled her over and crushed ehr with her snowboard. From the description it seems that she hit the skis, which caused them to fall. I did that once to a friend on an easy run when we both tured into each other. I didn't think it was that big of a deal, and promptly blamed it on my boots being on walk mode.

    They were on a bunny slope, and I mean the 16 year old probably wasn't that good to be messing around on a bunny slope anyways...It's not exactly easy to pin it on beginners if they accidentally hit people. I mean they are beginners.

    Since then it's been a book you read in reverse, so you understand less as the pages turn.

    Steamboat Springs police say it wasn't an example of the differences between skiers and snowboarders in a minor collision, but ski rage. The 7-year-old girl got up and skied away. According to the police, she's fine. Nichols was bruised and sore and is still stunned by the attack, but she was protected from injury, according to her mother, by her thick ski clothing. "It was just really scary
    in other words, that guy must punch like a girl

    Could it be...

    Colorado = super-religious
    Utah = super-religious

    Wyoming = regular
