    Question Sun Valley?

my brother in law hooked me up with plain tickets and lodging in sun valley. I understand that it is not the most aggressive mountain around, but there must be some good stuff there. Any ideas? Also any ideas about cheap tickets?

I'll be there this week I heard they have great snow. A bit different than squaw i'm guessing

it's actually very good. I spent a week there over new years and got 4 of 7 pow days. There are no lines, period. There is real good vert. The good stuff is bowls above treeline. You are now in the rockies brother --the land of top to bottom blower.

They have been having a great year. If you want to log some vertical head to Warm Springs for top to bottoms. There is a lot of terrian to be had on the mountain. The bowls are super fun. Cheap tickets are pretty rare. Jimmy Page or some of the other Sun Valley guys should be chiming in here soon.

think outside the box...hot springs, sawtooths, galena. I had a lot of fun there 2 years ago. Don't be discouraged by the long morning lift lines....most people take off by noonish or so.
There's a world out there full of color, dreams, and imagination. What are you waiting for?

Well, if you're used to Sqauw and want to ski some cool/steep shit, you just have to know where to look.

This mountain is one of the best around if there's powder. We get cold smoke blower, it's a big, consistently steep mountain and there are NO people here. The only bummer about this hill is the lack of features like cliffs or cornices. It's pretty much a big, steep, round hill with lots of glades.

Come git some. And bring your b/c gear if you have it because the BC is some the most titties accessible goods around!

I went for the first time in January......had bad snow conditions but it can be very fun if there is snow, as others have said.......fun town too.....check out ketchum and places like Whiskey Jacques (spelling) and the Casino.....Sawtooth as well and burgers at Grumpys (great local place with a lot of attitude).

Don't come here! It is flat and crowded and it never snows.

No really, we are having the best winter I have ever seen. I'd be more than happy to show you around the mountain. Let me know when you will be here and we can meet up. And if you are up for it, a Grumpy's, Lefty's, Whisky's, Casino tour can be arranged.

what's the weather report look like for this weekend? i managed to make it up to sun valley around new years this year, and was a bit disappointed with the terrain on teh mountain. it was nice and steep, but seemed . . . bland i guess. anyway, if it's powder and not crowded, could be real fun anyway. i think i might be able to get a free flight up . . .

Ok, I'll try to get some photos. I am totally amazed at the responses to this thread! Thanks for all the support. I can hardly wait to leave. 17 inches in the last 3 days and some more coming. I am guessing the snow holds up a bit better then Tahoe.

My first day out will be Fri.. in Tahoe the snow would already be skied out and set up. I am guessing that in sun valley that the snow will stay a bit softer. Is this true?
