A Basin was so quiet yesterday - with the random sluts and ho bags all retreated into the woodwork. There was even a bit of powder to ski, although not too deep.

Hot Damn!

Nearly two weeks later and I can finally post! Therefore, this is along one and my first on this board. Thanks to Phishshow up there for getting me in touch with Mike from Colorado Springs whose polls I intend to get back to him since they were mixed up with mine during the drunken festival that was the A-Basin mini.

Thanks so much to all of the Maggots that made this newbie feel right at home. I usually despise skiing in a large group, but not when everyone rips, as was the case this weekend.

The shout-outs (from what I can still remember)

-Mike from Co. Springs. Seems I have to come all the way to Colorado to meet someone who grew up 5 minutes from my parents' house in CT. Word.

-Word to Mike from Boulder (Phishshow) who introduced me to this board and invited me to the mini. Word to Mike's crew, Sabastian, Jackson...I think. We'll have to hit an EV next season.

-Word to MIKE JONES!

-Word to the other CT native from Stamford and his Weather Channel hookups. Jim Cantore says whassup.

-Word to Aaron (sp?) who hiked Hogan bowl and skiied it switch with me at the end of the day Saturday. I didn't have my beacon with me and that made me a little nervous.

-Word to Miriam(?), the Basin employee, one of the only females in attendance...my B-Day is closing day. Any chance for a comp pass? Word to her husband whose name escapes me.

-Word to however brought that grill. I dumped my brats at sirloin on that badboy. Word to whoever it was that grabbed my steak with his bare hands as I was eating it, bit off a chunk and put it back on my plate.

-Word to the guy who brought the Stone keg. That shit was good.

-Word to Jamie from the Fort.

-Word to my buddy Greg who is the only one from my regular crew of skiers in Fort C that showed up to rage in Last Chance Saturday after skiing. The two of us were the last men standing.

-It seemed that somebody hit the "PARTY OFF" switch around 2am? Next thing I knew the two of us were the last ones up. I remember making sure the fire was out and falling over at least once on the way to my tent where I proceeded to sleep on a big assed ROCK because I was too drunk to get my bedroll out of my car.

-Word to everybody whose name I can't remember.

-Despite the valium I took, I think I woke up ~a half dozen times with a splitting headache before I mustered up the strength to get out of my tent somewhere around 10 on Sunday. Greg and I *tried* to ski with minimal success for a few hours. We covered the whole mountain over the course of 6 runs and decided to call it quits.

Well, that's my somewhat rambling first post as a Maggot. Seriously, thanks again to Phishshow for the invite and to everyone that put the rager together. I'll be back at the Basin on the 20th, maybe sooner if they get some decent snow.

Danko, um, Brett's name is Brett and he's my boyfriend. An absolute living doll and a totally dreamy skier. He goes by BlurredElevens here on the forum. If you find yourself laughing histerically at something, he prolly made you do it.

About a comp, I will ask, but I want to get one for Dave and that's my priority. If I can get two, I surely will hook you up. I know I can get you a lift ticket for $25 (employee rate). I'll let you know asap.

We'll see how hurt I am after the moe. show at Red Rocks on the 3rd. Gonna camp at Hosa after the show. I know I'll have my skis but whether or not I sleep that night will most likely be the determining factor on if I hit closing day or not...although Hosa is basically Genessee which is less than an hour away.

I DID hit the Basin on my B-day last year. Half a foot of slightly wet fresh on June 4th is a treat. I cooked a steak in my undies in the snow on my B-day last year...well...the steak wasn't actually in my undies and the grill was in the snow, but you get my drift.

Don't stress on a pass. If it happens, it happens.

And, I don't know...DO they scan on closing day? I've always had a pass.
