The "Colorado Sucks" is a running joke on this board since everyone bags on Colorado. Of course we all don't think CO sucks, but it's great sarcasm in a season that is one of the best in a while.

Besides, Colorado has no steeze. Just take a lap thru Freeway at Breck, you realize really quick then....

Hey Max, hows the collection going? I'll be down for $10 next payday (just over a week)....

Jonski: I haven't done an actual count, but I think it's up to three now. Maybe four? Hahaha.

I'd like to hear back from Low Budget to see if we could, aproposly, do this on a lower budget (i.e. significantly less than $270 so that not 27 people have to chip in). In reference to that, LB, you don't even need to get a quote if you could just give me the name of the print shop. That could probably do.

Otherwise, I'm setting the minimum to 20 people (excluding me) to contribute to the cost. I'll adjust this number if possible, depending on the Denver print shop. I'll post more once I have more details. Meanwhile I gotta work a lot on getting a place to live next year

EDIT: HOLD OFF ON SENDING MONEY UNTIL I KNOW THAT IT'S ACTUALLY GONNA HAPPEN. SENDING THE MONEY BACK WOULD KINDA SUCK AND I'D RATHER AVOID IT (although since the CO crew does not suck I won't have to do that... Or will I? You guys decide!!!)

Edit2: I don't really like the Colorado Sucks either... just perpetuates the bitching. Personally I think it's funny, but I'd rather not think of the Utah vs CO contraversy at a time when I may or may not have clothes on, very very drunk.

Edit3: is it decided that we will have circular text in the design? Or is it just as is in the first post in this thread?

OK, I'm not bitching here, I'm just saying - if you don't like the the sticker I've designed, then design another one and put up another thread and take a vote.

I'm staying out of the sticker design now. Max, you are in charge of the stickers.

Strangely, I too was very very drunk when I questioned the Colorado Sucks thing. Needless to say, I am now sober and find it funny. I copied the design and sent the shops a gif of it so they would have an idea on ink coverage. I only checked with two shops and neither has gotten back to me. I will start drinking heavily and call them when I have finished my first six pack (Can't ski till March 1st tweaked leg). The quotes I submitted were on regular matte paper with gloss lamination. I think this may be cheaper than vinyl. I think the vinyl fades faster, but can certainly check on the price for vinyl. I submitted it as a 3 inch by 3 inch circle...wow I just realized thats pretty small. Maybe 4 3/4 would be better. Well I'll just give them a call.
Listen, I had a problem that needed to be solved and I found a way around it. I'm not trying to sell these to anyone. I just wanted to share what I thought was a good idea and has opened some doors for me. It's also really good for impressing the ladies when you're at lunch. -Elguapo435

I will have to see about getting that Friday and Monday off so I don't have to deal with traffic. I will probably be able to do it.

    First quote is in

The first place I tried just sent me their quote. Apparently the sales guy thinks I do not know anything about printing. He is trying to tell me they need to use 4 color process printing to achieve the design I submitted. This is bullshit, its a 3 color design, 185 red, black, and say 317 green, I don't have my pantone book on me so its just a guess. Well, the first of his quotes is for 451.90, this is for a vinyl sticker with UV coating. The second is for 375.17 and again this is a vinyl sticker with a different coating. I think I will start calling places and talking to people and see what I can come up with.

That makes the count 6 then. It's a start!

Btw, the quote I got was based on 2 1/2 inch circles (which I'm assuming are roughly the size of the jackson summit stickers if not a little larger).

You guys might want to check that size. Somewhere I saw a comment about people wanting to be able to put them on their helmets - easier to spot maggs in lift lines, etc. - made since to me. I don't use one so I'll let you check.
and Max, your quote on the other thread says 1.5" circles:

    Hi Max,

    Your quote is as follows:

    Size: 1.5" Circles
    250: $269
    500: $278
    1000: $299
    Plus Shipping
    Max - I'll commit to a $10.

OK, I have to interject about the size of the sticker - 3" is way too big. I say about 2", so it can go on the helmet.

NOTE: We also need to put "www.tetongravity.com" in curved letters around the top of the sticker. I don't know how to do that in Photoshop, so someone get that done.

I stand corrected. Should have checked that first.

Glad to hear you are in. I'll measure my PM sticker on my helmet and get whatever size that is, unless there seems to be a strong collective desire to go bigger.

So this is what I've got...

I overlayed FZ's design on top of the original design and resized. It was a horrible mess. I messed with it pixel by pixel for about 2 hours and this is what I have so far. Just wondering if it's worth it to continue.

    What I started with:

What I have now... (edit: the one on the left)

Any thoughts? Anyone with a little more experience than paint want to holla?

My sentiments at the moment are that the sticker CAN BE DONE. BZ, would you prefer a separate thread for this? If so, no problem.

The sticker rocks in its original version, except for the distinct lack of "maggot" or "maggots". gimme a breack, how can that be missed?!

personally, i like this is a small group of sickos and attendent lurkers and/or wannabe's on this board so I vote "no" on the "www.tetongravity.com". my .02.

BZ, i dig that design. i'm in for my 10 spot towards it.

max, you can pick up my 10, this weekend when my mother escorts you home to Denver Extreme/Boulder. wear your seatbelt and say please and thankyou. you'll have it in check form (so you can rip it up, and not have to mail money back if paying for said sticker falls through).

oh, and yes, obviously i'll be there. i'll be the one in the blue flames full face and matching saucer. i'm not kidding. (that sticker's going to look killer on my bucket! nice job BZ.

    bring it!!
