I don't drive in the snow, it's unsafe, and furthermore, i could ding my shit from the accumulation on the road. The snow gets in my eyes while walking and down the front of my poser coat on the lift. It's too sticky to turn in and although I haven't made it to the double square +, i go too slow on the advanced circles. You ain't gonna see shit, this board is busiest whence it snows......no one ventures out......

is it evident that i've been drinking already?

    shit.

    carry on.

Mt Hood Meadows today did not suck.

Aside from the fact that patrol seems completely unable to get Heather Canyon open before 1 PM, today was amazing. 10-14" of some of the best Cascade snow in awhile.

Tomorrow will be a zoo, I'm thinking about BC instead of lift-served.

I'm a little worried about this however:

    FREE WINDS AT 5000 FT

SW 30-60 Sat morn strongest south part

    But otherwise

Chinook chair at 8!! Unless someone can convince me its worth the drive to Stevens......

I think that means the winds in the S Cascades. Meaning Mt Hood (assuming you got that from the NWAC forecast, S Cascades = Mt Hood).

Which isn't surprising at all, the winds today were sustained 50 mph at 6600' (judging by how much the chairs were swinging I'd put them at 35-40 on Shooting Star Express @ Mt Hood Meadows, 40-45 on Mt Hood Express, 25-30 on Hood River Express, and Vista was closed, so no report there)

Alpental was O.T.T. Elevator gate opened and rope lines were DEEp. LOTs of release tho, mostly 6" fluff on top but hair trigger ALL thru Knoll 4 - lower Stokes.

hey, let's rally at the CostCo parking lot on 38th St, near the gas station.

    it's pretty central for everybody.

fuck, why'd this storm take so long to get here - I've had the last week off (except for today, goddam simulator I had to go to), and I leave Monday morning - I'll be in Honolulu monday night, and Tokyo Tuesday night...or whatever night that is there on the other side of the IDL...

Target's pretty far for me actually - I live further out. Scott had picked me up from my place already the last time when we rallied there...

Ummm, shit. yeah I'm hoping the wind doesn't fuck EVERYTHING up too. Guess call the report @ 0500, and hope for the best?

It'd probably work best to leave our respective places at 0600, and meeting @ CostCo @ 0630...add an hour and a half...0800. And in place at 0830 when the lifts crank.

Dudes, thank for the invite, but I have to wait til Sunday to get the goods. It looks like it is going to be a "go fat or go home kind of weekend"!

Anyone going Sunday???? Anyone, anyone, Beuller... hello, is this thing on?

I can relate with that! Dont say a word Jumper!

    Forecast For Crystal:

Tonight: Snow. Snow accumulation 8 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 100 percent. South wind 21 mph. Low 18.

Saturday: Snow then snow showers. Snow accumulation 10 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 100 percent. Southwest wind 20 mph. High 27.

Saturday Night: Snow showers. Snow accumulation 4 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 60 percent. West wind 20 mph. Low 18.

Sunday: Snow then rain. Snow accumulation 3 inches. Probability of measurable precipitation 80 percent. South wind 16 mph. High 30.

Sundays snow level should be good up until the late afternoon, early evening.

hey married guys! you know what the proper answer is? "TOUGH FUCKING SHIT!!!"

    ...hence why I'm single...

I could be persuaded to hold off until sunday, not sure if I have the time to ski both days. And I sure as shit don't want a day ruined by upper-mountain wind hold.

I dont think wind hold should be an issue. The forecasts I have seen have not said anything about wind... so you should be good.

If you wait til Sunday I will take you out to a little place Rollins showed me, but shhhhhhhh, its a secret.

Gabe - I'm not married and Im sure I will go thru the same thing

    its not TOO bad.

cliff - do you think we could meet at Costco instead of Target? It just one more exit down 16 at S. 38th.

we are gonna meet by the costco gas station. That way we could do it all in one stop.

and steve - if your going up sunday I may have to drag my self up there.....

I dunno though... only 4" overnight though......

anyway - if we could all meet at Costco by I think 6:15 at the latest I think that would be great. No more driving down to crapwood...lakewood. sorry gabe.

Get out of your HOLE down there..... (O didn't get to tell you yet, but one of my neighbors was robbed outside their house on wend at gun point. WTF?! )

o - and waiting to sunday maybe the better option for me as well actually.

wind hold pisses me off....as does the shit-ton of homework I need to finish that skiing both days would make a real pain in the ass....

Mr Igg, the majority of the snowfall tomorrow is going to hit in the afternoon and early evening. I will have plenty of freshies come Sunday, trust me.

If you do decide to go call me... I will PM you my cell. Oh, and Rosie Palm and Her 5 Sisters... I mean Jumper has my number as well.

Well a call has to be made here. I am potentially down for both days and tomorrow if it doesnt get put on wind hold could be epic. Most likely I am going to go up tomorrow regardless of whether you guys go (Iggy and Jumper) but I could do the Costco meeting. Wind hold sure does suck tho.
