    Umm...

I was wearing a grey jacket, yellow pants. Mantras/Freerides/Adrenalines.

Helmet has a skull and lightning bolt steal your face on the back.

Today was great too. I went after north facing slopes in the morning and found lots of untracked due to the wind deposit and new snow.

It was amazing how the mildly tracked up was still super deep and soft and buttery smooth. Or at times so cold smokelike I was inhaling clouds of powder in my mouth as I was smiling.

They opened northback and it was DEEP!!! Everything is filled in. Even lower northway.

I left at about 1:30. Had to get back to PDX to get ready for work tomorrow.

    See you next weekend.

    Or not.....

Next week I'll have my digi camera.

I know it may be sacriledge, but Sunday on the mountain could be great, and empty, with the super bowl and all.

fubar - you're too much, man.

Mad props to you for showing me & Jumper where to find the goods in Northbakistan. That was totally off the hook. I am so psyched to do that again ASAP!!!

You guys that, well, had other ideas about how to spend your day - you missed out. Seriously. Waist deep at least in many places, face shots on almost every turn. The I-5 shuffle was rendered almost enjoyable by the trip down to it. Sorry to have missed you.

Anyone who can get to Xtal tomorrow, do it! It is absolutely nuking, puking, and zooking up there right now and probably will be all night. I swear, 2 inches of really light fluff fell on my car while I was loading it up. Unimaginable deepness awaits.

yeah seriously mad props to fu-ba-doo-bar, I'd have probably still have gone without you but it'd have sucked - it was great having you there to drag me around. I can guarantee you though I wouldn't have stayed as long as I did. Sorry if I was crabby from being wiped out, I came home and took a shower and a nap and now I'm a little better...but on to packing, YAY.

Will, great to ski with you again, and thanks for taking those photos.

Today was almost as good as yesterday. The wind loading made it feel sort of like just as much fresh as Saturday. Exterminator & my Northback run win the awards of the day. It was definitely the best two day run for me of the year with two insanely awesome days. I just wish I didn't have to go to Cali for work tomorrow at 6 am, arg.

Monique: Sorry to have missed ya...it twasn't the same w/o you & GS!! Howz about next weekend? Will you be home?

Gabe, a pleasure as always. Have fun down South of the equator and come back in one piece so we can ski Baker. I hope the pics turn out, you'll see them in the next three days or so.

Cliff, you probably won't even have to go OB to find seriously deep snow. I couldn't believe how fast it was piling up. After Gabe left, fubar and I rode Forest Queen up again then parted ways as he needed to get his kid and I needed to empty my kidneys. I took one more ride up Chair 6 and it was blowing and snowing so hard you couldn't see more than 50 yards and they had the chair running at half speed. I called it a day at that point, the wind was so strong you could easily ski uphill and my wet gloves had lost their insulating power. There was actually shin deep soft pow on lower bull run and down at the bottom, about 100 yards from the base lodge it had piled up enough that you couldn't tell where the groomer track ended. I skied too far off to the side, my left ski went off the track and the deep snow snatched that ski right off my leg. When I got to the base area people were saying they'd closed Rex and it was only about 3. On my way to the B lot I heard them start bombing right above us and really close, probably on those cliffs below exterminator. I bet Snorting Elk, Right Angle, Grubstake, Sunnyside, East Powder Bowl, Bear Pits, Exterminator, and Campbell Basin will all be $$$$ tomorrow you lucky SOB!

Now please excuse me, I must get some sleep so's tomorrow I can shovel mud and haul pipe around in the rain with great efficiency...

Hmmm, doesn't sound good. At least it wasn't the z-man this time. Elevator is a grater.

If I didn't have a meeting with my research advisor tomorrow I would totally skip school and drive up (freezing levels here mean rain tonight on the mountain).

Ohwell, maybe next Friday, Sat, or Sun I'll come up. Looks like this storm is supposed to last awhile.

Alpental delivered again. Crowds that choked the life out of me moderated after 12 as the next storm cycle pounded the hill, at least 6" more between 12-4 pm

I was not a good citizen today.... but a better person for it.

Great to see the massive 05-06 winter still going off, and everyone gittin some..and then some!! Wow, 16 new at Xtal in the last 7 hours, and 11 at Alpental...but it looks to be close to rain at Xtal base....

I missed yesterday, as I drove to Whistler. I has some customers to see on the way up. But today, skiied with powder11, postman, samwich, Richard, and Atrain and had an epic day. Pics and TR later on a new thread. It is nuking in town, 6 inches outside already, gonna be epic on the hill tomorrow. Max 85 cm in the 48 hr Whistler forecast....yummm!!

    Getting ready....

I'm sitting here, sweating out the minutes until 3:30 when I will literally jump through the glass window, get my gear, and get on a fllight to take me to Seattle this evening for what looks like four of the sickest days imaginable at Cryatal!!!!

As of now we don't have a truck rented, how sketchy is the drive from Seattle to Crystal with all this weather? My friend lives at 3,000 ft., but he said the 10 mile drive to the mountain every morning might be dicey. What do you all think? To truck or not to truck?
