    I think its Garmont Canada.

    GARMONT CANADA Address: 800 Rue Sud - Quebec J2K 2Y3 Phone: (877) 2634747

You want a hookup to the distributor of Fritschi, Deuter, Movement skis or you already have a ROI account?

Is the shop a new thing, Beav? I was under the impression you were a computer jockey of some sort.

Ya, I'm an electrical engineering geek with ownership in a Bike shop that is expanding into winter sports next winter. MIke's Bikes in Castlegar. We're thinking we'll have to do something with the name maybe a split name like Mike's Bikes / Beav's Backcountry. We're going to try to hook into the b/c ski/board, xc, and sledhead market. The sled heads in the area are stating to take notice of avalanche safety.

Tell me what you think of my ad idea:

    [sound of roaring sleds]
ah the outdoors, nothing like fresh air, sled exhaust and deep kootenay powder
    [roar of avalanche sound]
with powder comes the risk of avalanches. You don't want to spend your last moments of life locked in an icey tomb with no hope of rescue because you're not wearing an avalanche beacon. That's why you need to get into Beav's backcountry....

    Hey Beaver,

Are you going to carry Dynafit?....I'm thinking about making the switch in the near (next year) future.

Bev: sled guys have money, touring guys are cheap. go for sled repair (and chainsaw, motorbike etc) and forget about making money in touring. also very low profit , (cost on adrenalines = 600ish and sell for $800ish) Set stuff up for specail orders (dynafit, garmont, goode etc) for customers that want to order, and want to suport local, but a lot of touring types are MEC or nothing, or internation mail order.

beacons, probes, shovels etc are great for the sled guys, try getting a cheap RAC avi course, or a Avi 1?
free nights to see, demo the avi gear.
SOS might be a good one to talk to.

    Oh well, enought babling

That's basically what we plan. Getting acess to gear and carrying limited stock. We'll keep probes, shovels, beacons and some other stuff on the shelves but if you want something we'll get it in a coule days. we're not getting into sled repairs though there're enough of those shops around already and I don't want to be a two stroke grease monkey unless the strokes are pedal strokes.

It's a good idea, Beav. Have you heard of Red Shreds bike and board shed? They did the same kind of diversification 10 or so years ago and it's treated them well.
