This just in;
You don't get it. This forum evidently doesn't get it.
It's the east coast. We get rain, it gets icy, conditions suck sometimes. You can either complain and stay home, or you can grab your sharp skis and go out and entertain yourself, and make yourself a better skier in the process. There's more to skiing than powder. That's part of why I ski Killington - when conditions suck everywhere, they are probably going to suck less at Killington. There will be a good park this weekend. There will be good bump skiing, probably on fresh machine made snow. There will be nicely groomed out hardpack, without that many people on it. And of course there will be ultra sketch ice knar to test your mettle.

I used to feel that way too when I was first learning how to ski. It's a tad bit harder to psych yourself up when it's 45 degrees and POURING RAIN!!!
Now let us bitch and take your happy go lucky ass somewhere else

Look. I grew up skiing a 850 foot hill with consistantly abhorant grooming -softball sized death cookies, and ridges between groomer swaths. Relentless sheet ice. Night skiing about 50 days year. Jumping to icy landings all the time. Guess what? It was fun most of the time.
You pussys should stop your fucking complaining, you're giving east coast skiers a bad name.

I think you misunderstood me. I like all conditions. I don't mind the weather. I expect this in January in New England. You just come across as smug, even self-righteous. It's just grating to me I guess.
On a side note: I like commute work at least a day a week on snow. Now I can't because my skis don't glide well on dirt. I must not be "core" enough.
Good for you. You a super skier. That's fine. Just don't consider it reason to condescend in the manner you do. Just my two cents.

I give everybody shit because everybody gives me shit. I love to fight on the internet, and love to provoke people.
I in general (outside TGRF) don't like people who ski Stowe or Jay (or the west) and think they are better or more core or whatever than people who ski other places. They are still mountains with trees and snow, just like everywhere else. Just because you ski there doesn't mean you rip, in fact, I've found that more often than not it just means you have an overinflated ego. I know people who ski (snowboard) primarly in westen massachusetts and will take to school 99%+ of the people at stowe/jay, and most of the people on this board. Yes, I'm fucking dead serious. Just because I like to ski killington, doesn't mean I suck, and I take personal offense when the mountain is dismissed as 3rd rate by people who have rarely skied there.
I understand that this forum is about powder skiing and backcountry, wooohoo. That's not all there is to skiing, and if you shut your mind to other aspects of skiing, you're only cheating yourself. I hear newschool, mogul skiing and racing/carving dissed on this board all the time, and it's fucking rediculous. If you only want to ski trees and pow all the time on the east coast, you're probably going to have a shitty ski season, or miss half of it.
If I want to spew about my race stock binding collection, I sure as hell will. I have 7 pairs....4 sollys and 3 looks. It took me a long time to figure out these bindings kick ass, I've been skiing them, and 13 or 14 dins, ever sense....way before TGRF, killington, or whatever. Many people ski dins in the 12 to 16 range, it's not uncommon at all, and for me to say that I do is not dickwaving. I'm on a personal crusade to help educate people against the complete dogshit that many manufacturers and the ski industry are pushing as "expert" level gear. There should be more than 2-3 viable binding choices on the market, and $800 skis should NOT contain foam and plastic. 170's should not be sold to 200lb adult males. And there SERIOUSLY needs to be a stiff, low lift, 15 or 16 DIN touring binding.
If I come off as smug or self-rightous or arrogant, well, it's because this is the internet and you haven't seen me ski. I've been doing this a long time, and I do, in fact know what I'm doing. So, if I post pictures or video it's "stoke", but if I talk about what I'm doing it's bragging or dickwaving? Well, fuck that. I know how I stack up as a skier and ski tech, and proving it to a bunch of people on the internet is pretty low on my prioritites list (aside from the entertainment value).

Alright, goddammit
HS- If you truly don't think this weather situation well and truly sucks royal ass you are some kind of core dude. My, hill, Sbush, is mostly closed today becasue of all the shit that's hit it this week. That sucks. I'm fucking tired of skiing ice. I spent a few days skiing frozen bumps and I'm tired of that. I've skied a lot in the rain, and while I enjoy the soft snow, that sucks and I'm tired of that. I understand, dumbass, that this is winter and January thaws/freezes are as part of the landscape as aholes like you clogging that shithole KMart, but it is not supposed to last the entire month, and that sucks.
This has been am month that thankfully only comes around every 10 years or so. Enjoy getting blasted in the puss by snowguns this weekend. I'd hate to see your goggles freeze over and cause you to ski into the Waffle Hut or anything.

Seriously though, I have no problem with a wide variety of conditions to ski in (ice, melty, crappy, rocky etc.), but it looks like fucking april right now. The grass is GREEN not brown. I saw a rainbow the other day too, a goddamn rainbow. Rainbows do not belong in NH in January. I can deal with a lot of shit, but this is just ridiculous. I'm almost ready to rip out the damn bicycle. Then again, maybe I'm just a sally.

I know how I stack up as a skier and ski tech, and proving it to a bunch of people on the internet is pretty low on my prioritites list (aside from the entertainment value).
why don't you post some pics.....

Not sure if you all caught this, but we all just witnessed the extremely rare alias self-quote and self-FM. Quite the gem. I'll cherish this day forever.

i could care less how core I think i am, or for that matter how core you think I am, BUT
skiing 2200' vert of waist deep blower is MUCH more fun then "coring" it out on east coast ice/ bumps/ whatever else you guys ski over that way.
I served my ice coast time-

Well, today, I played some frisbee on a green field on the side of the conneticut river - which happens to be at flood stage.

Nobody gonna take my car
I’m gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
It’s gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh it’s a killing machine
It’s got everything
Like a driving power big fat tyres
And everything
I love it and I need it
I bleed it yeah it’s a wild hurricane
Alright hold tight
I’m a highway star
Nobody gonna take my girl
I’m gonna keep her to the end
Nobody gonna have my girl
She stays close on every bend
Oooh she’s a killing machine
She’s got everything
Like a moving mouth body control
And everything
I love her I need her
I seed her
Yeah she turns me on
Alright hold on tight
I’m a highway star
Nobody gonna take my head
I got speed inside my brain
Nobody gonna steal my head
Now that I’m on the road again
Oooh I’m in heaven again I’ve got everything
Like a moving ground an open road
And everything
I love it and I need it
I seed it
Eight cylinders all mine
Alright hold on tight
I’m a highway star
Nobody gonna take my car
I’m gonna race it to the ground
Nobody gonna beat my car
It’s gonna break the speed of sound
Oooh it’s a killing machine
It’s got everything
Like a driving power big
Fat tyres and everything
I love it and I need it
I bleed it
Yeah it’s a wild hurricane
Alright hold on tight
I’m a highway star
I’m a highway star
I’m a highway star
btw...this song has the most annoying guitar solo ever.

Mundo paparazzi mi amore cicce verdi parasol.
Questo abrigado tantamucho que canite carousel.
