Well, the clouds moving in earlier than expected ruined my photo hopes for the day. oh well......and i torqued my bad knee a bit. I'm hoping to beat the next storm in Utah by driving back tomorrow morning. Although if it really looks like we are going to keep getting snow in Seattle, I might stick around for a few more days. I guess I'll make my mind up tomorrow.
Hope to get out with some of you guys when I'm back for a few days in Feb sometime to see my bro one more time before he gets shipped out to Iraq.
Well it is literally snowing right now on Seattle's eastside where I'm staying for the holidays. So I guess tomorrow should be good at Alpental and elsewhere....
If anyone else is at Alpy, look for a guy wearing a blue Leedom helmet, dijon yellow Bonfire jacket, black pants, orange Solly boots, red AK launchers. Though I may not be up until 11 or so. I gots work to take care of first.
It's snowing in Seattle, too. It's 11:00 pm and there is at least 1/2" on the ground. Coming down pretty good, there could be a few inches by morning IF it keeps up. Yeah, it isn't much, but it's a lot here.
Anyone up there on Saturday? Rusty where U at? Was up the past few days and it ws sweet. It's dumping in downtown Seattle now- Midget's out trying to shoot down some rails either at West Seattle or nearby the Needle. Got me a few inches outside. Anyone goin' up on Saturday? I think I'm off to Crystal or Baker for Thursday, but as a newbie to the boards and Ski-attle, be nice to meet up with the Alp crew.
Prolly skiing Thurs and Sat -- but with my girl before she heads back East. Next weekend I'm down for an Alpy tour! I need to get my ass up to Baker too.
Yup. Not a great day for inbounds (the 30th that is) I bet the BC went off though. <sigh> Soon precsiousssss.....
Oddly enough, for all of the snow here in the low lands, the mountains seem to have gotten very little. Only 5" at Alpental? 1" at Crystal?
Anyhoo, I'm doing a Cascade Pow Cats day on Friday (assuming I can get aboard,) and then Crystal on Saturday and Sunday, then back at Alpental on the 6th.
We probably need to start thinking about the PowderMaggots CityLeague team too...
I can confirm the 5" at Alpental. Not more. I think because of the cold mostly. It's been snowing lightly all day though, and the skiing in-bounds was definitely better than yesterday! The BC was closed, not because the conditions are bad for slides (nothing will move) but because the entrances at the gates have been skied too much and are rocky.
As I was drivign down, the most snow was falling around North Bend. Must be having just the right temperature there.
