    Thumbs up

I don’t claim to be a Reggae expert nor do I consider my music taste very cutting edge…but I get a good feeling when I hear that song on the radio and I like good feelings over bad ones.

I hope to use it in a viddy at some point….

You're retarded. Don't you realize that you are supposed to like music not because it makes you feel good, but because it makes you seem cool?

I think this guy is playing in Aspen soon. I'm not bothering to research that, but I think I remember hearing that a reggae act with a similar sounding name is coming. Maybe he doesn't suck live.

I think the point in some's distaste for this guy is that some kid is going to hear this song on the radio and think this is what reggae is and is all about and he will be sorely mistaken.

I am going to go as far to say that he uses reggae elements in his music, but it's not reggae. It's about as reggae as OAR is.

That being said I do like the song, it makes me feel good, and I sing along in the car to it just like I shamefully admit to singing along to OARs "Crazy Game of Poker".

College-whiteboy-jam-funky music, not reggae. (Not that there's anything wrong with that.)

Iceman, you gotta play a little "shake ya rump" next time you are eating some pow.

By the way, any show in which someone fires a flaming arrow into the stadium ceiling must indicate at least a decent band, IMHO (Tacoma Dome circa 95, I believe).

I like the guy, I think he definetly sings about his spirituality with a passion, but his general style, is right out of the book of alot of late 80`s reggae bands. Don Carlos, Half Pint, Eek a Mouse, Burning Spear, Jacob Miller Yellowman (remember than knarly dude?). If you like Matis, check out some of the orginal stuff.Personally im stuck in 1988 as far as reggae goes.

singing OAR outloud in the privacy of your own car is more than boarderline suspect.

They are no Black Uhuru or Midnite. I also prefer I-Vibe too. I saw Steel Pulse at Joshes when it was still around and I remember they played for about 45 minutes. My opinion of them has since diminished a bit, and the fact that along with Bob Marley they are overplayed, but that is not their fault huh.

Let me follow up with saying they are good though, just not what I listen to these days.

    Bob Marley overplayed?

    You fucking philistine.

That's almost as bad as saying the snow was too deep or there wasn't enough groomed.

Matisyahu is a joke I'd rather stick a pencil through both my ear drums than listen to that garbage.

You are damn right Bob Marley is way overplayed. Jesus there are other reggae bands out there. If I hear legend one more time I will vomit. You can't ride a damn elevator without having to suffer through it. I am not trying to diminish his impact on the music world or the world in general but shit man.

That Philistine comment was funny though.

O.k. I'll agree with you that the Legend compilation is played to often instead of the rest of his music and that it leaned toward being too easily palatable but it's still Bob - and some of us are old enough to have listened to it first time round

Keep in mind that all this is coming from a person who goes home to listen to the Eagles,Led Zep, Bad Company, and the Doors. He's been doing so for 30+ years now. Hotel California just keeps getting better after the first million times hearing it. That classic rock shit never gets old.

That's a fairly wild and very inaccurate assumption about my musical tastes. But does it mean that Mozart and Beethoven are worthless because people have been listening to them for so long?

Most people don't listen to Mozart and Beethoven religiously every day saying all music after them sucks.

Were you "old enough to listen to them the first time round"?
