    TR: Jackson Blitz, W/ Pics

I know there have been a ton of these lately, but it was too good to let go. After skiing a 12 inch day in summit county, I packed up the car and headed for jackson. After a long, crappy drive, I rolled into town at about 1:30 am on friday morning. And so it began.

Day one: Report 4 inches, I am tired so I don't get out till about 10 am, meet up with sherpa and start the day. Its good, but nothing epic... just ripping around inbounds, then a few laps out. Thats when I get ballsy and head for a new line, well turns out its not a skiable line..... oh well, got to ski the top before booting out. Gaper move, check.

Day two: In line at the gondy by 8:40, maybe 5th box. They are reporting 7, and its still puking. Rip around inbounds, its great, knee deep fluff. Hike over to the craigs, find some waste deep and awesome lines. Now out the gate, still dumping. We stayed low and headed to an undisclosed location where the snow was waste plus deep, white rooms were had, and smiles shared. First time in a few years I actually had to stop because after two or three turns without vis I was woried about hitting something. Simply great snow.

Day Three: In line for the tram at 8:45, get the third box and straight up to pucker. I am about the 4th onto the face, and get an untracked line straight down, with a micro air at the bottom. It felt great to stomp a line. Next over to a new to me line skiers left of break neck. Nice straight line with a high speed ripping exit, now I am fully stoked. Finished the day off with another nice pillowy run through some trees, back at the bar in time to see denver lose it Then the 8 hour trek back home for work in the am.

having some fun in the trees

Maching out a new to me line

I promise, Sherpa Style is in there somewhere

Can you say blue bird pow

And finally a mini huck, more to show the huge pile

PS, thanks for all the photog work sherpa

Yeh, this weekend did not suck! I have a few more pics that I'll put up if my internet starts working better at some point.

Nice job guys. It looks like yesterday you got to the same shots we did one lap ahead of us. Where's that second picture from, is it the left-of-breakneck line? And did that funnel out to the Four Pines bootback side, or the Fat Bastard sidestep side of that little ridge?

I suck at the internet! Pics fixed

BigKuba- Yeh, that was skiers left of Breakneck. Ended at the 4pines bootpack. It wasnt a line really worth skiing, we were just trying to get to the bootpack without having to wait our turn on top of breakneck.

Ah, I got it. There looks like there are a couple of rowdy straightlines from higher up, pretty much from the top of the back of Fat Bastard. Those look like they'd be worth skiing and I was wondering if that's what you guys did. Couldn't tell if there were tracks down them or if it was just slough.

Yeah, I like those lines over there. I know there were some female pros up there poking around, I really wanted to give one a shot, but we were skinnless on that lap, and didn't have time to do a whole nother lap. All in all a great trip of great snow and great lines.

Pics of Pucker would have been sweet, but to be honest, I was being a pussy and really want sherpa to spot me in case something changed. ended up being cake walk and super fun

Could be wrong, but I think that's me (half-hidden) setting up for side angle for Puckers....closest person (to your camera) on the bootpack.

    Isn't that special.

Kind of what I thought, was super pissed at himself for blowing up, that guy can throw down, but I much prefer a more low key, mellow attitude. But what the hell do I know, I am nobody.

Ha, he is somewhat mellow. Ian just wants to have a good part in the TGR movie and that's the 2nd time he's crashed doing that line. It's hard to judge someone by one brief encounter...

Totally hear ya, not judging at all. I just gave up on the being pissed at myself for not skiing the way I want in comps and what not. I don't mean anything of it. It was a super cool vibe going on there, radios going off about lines being skied. The thing that truly kind of bothered me was that certain pros were bitching that someone else snagged so and so's line line. Lets face it, first come first serve in the back county. We all have the same right to be there.

Nice! I skied Breakneck not long after that photo was taken- ended up hitting the small cliff right before the one all the way on the right side of the picture. I hit it toward the right side (looking at the pic). What a month for Jackson!

nice yo. I'm jealous! So Katie didn't go with you? You should really, really try to get off for our Feb trip. It would be a shame if we never skied the tram together.

by the way, I got your message, but I get terrible reception where I was at. I'll try and call you tonight if it's good.
