    Stoke or Joke?

I'm sure this is season dependant, but was curious as to what brings you back here again and again (and again and again). Is it the trip reports and accompanying stoke? Or is it the occasionally-witty-but-mostly-silly banter, jokes and general goofiness that constitute the rest of the content?

If I'm being honest (which I sometimes am), I'd have to say that as much as I love the pretty pictures and excited words, it's the "filler" that has made this my cyber hang-out of choice.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and needing to make use of a pol(l)e),

I am, in fact, a guido queeb, can we hug? I come here for love advice.

I come here to check out all the stoke that I'm missing out on by being stuck in the midwest, at least that's what originally brought me to this place. After hanging out here for awhile I became addicted to the constant witty banter and vivid personalities. Thanks to everyone for keeping up the stoke and giving me yet another reason to put off my work for another day!
I think that the human mind is unique among all other forms of life in that it can spontaneously create unique thoughts and provide unique behaviors. Instead of rewarding that uniqueness we, for some reason probably because of cultural and social necessity, we chastise unique behavior and reward conformity.

I can't say it's any one particular thing. It all makes for very effective life support for someone serving out a sentence in cubicle prison. (thank you!!)

There are so many good things going on here: great TRs, TONS of info, sweet hookups/deals, dance parties, and fantastic humor. This is a community and a damn good one -

This is the first post that made me laugh - and made me know that this was a pretty cool place: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/s...ht=post+thread

Full points to shmerham for summarizing my thoughts in two lines.

Sick and ashamed and happy (and it's not so much about what brought you here, but what's most responsible for bringing you back),

During the season, I am here mostly for the ski stoke. Whether it be TRs, the personality of the forum, the product info., and/or the general mounterneering knowledge. It's a good place to be to chat with people who share interests. This is not to say that I don't enjoy the wackiness of some of the members and posts, as well as a lot of the non-ski related shiz. Also, for a geezer like me, it is also a way to keep a pulse of what is happenning outside of my little world.

I originally came to message boards when researching skis, but picked this group because of the community feel and of coarse the great stories.

But like gincognito if I'm to be honest it's the padded room and its amazing pictures that keep me here.

I am a TR junky....I look at them all (especially if it has a "pict" in the title).

For the other threads it is hit or miss....depending on title, time, and work boredom.
