    DaleBoot Heel Nest?

    Does anyone use these? Comments?

We have developed two new and effective ways for you to be able to tighten your inner boot. Ask our advertising department, our boot owners, They really know it works.

    HEEL NEST AND HALTER
This effectively gives a tight heel hold on any inner. It has heel holding ribs built into the semi-rigid Heel Nest as shown. It is very easy to install as shown in conjunction with the 1/16" neoprene halter. Together or separately, with the forefoot shim, heel nest, and halter, you can adjust your innerboot yourself as shown in the above illustrations.
    TIA.

We tried the heel nests when I was fitted for my Dales, but they were too tight for me. The fitter ended up just putting some foam on the inside of the boot shell, around the ankle. The nests really held the ankle/heel well, and would work great if you need a *lot* of room taken up in that area.

I actually have a pair of halters for when my liners pack out, but so far the liners haven't packed out enough to use them. They look really thin but take up a lot of room since they go all the way around the forefoot.

What boot would you be putting them in?

I have weird feet -- forefeet wide enough to require wide shoes, but narrow heel and chicken calves.

Sounds like that might be me.

    Tecnica Rival RX.

The boots come with removeable heel holds, but those didn't do the trick. So I had the boots fitted at Granite Chief at Squaw a couple of seasons ago, including custom heel holds; that worked for a while, but for whatever reason (packing out, presumably), I'm getting a lot of heel lift this season.

    Anyone actually using them, though?

Well, my pair arrived today. Unfortunately, no soup for me this weekend, have to entertain my dad instead. Report to come, after 2/11.

Bumping old thread. I have a set of these heel nest things, and they work great for me.

I don't remember where I got mine, and can't find anyplace online to buy another set. I emailed Daleboot about it, but no response yet.

Anyone know of a source? (or have some that they don't need?)

I used them and they worked well, then I made some other changes that prompted me to do essentially the same thing with hockey tape. It worked well and was easier to customize and did a better job of staying put if I needed to pull the liner.
