Glad to see you guys putting this stuff up. That huck is unreal big. That floating backwards and not being able to do anything about it is freaky. I really need to get up there to play. Props as always to GT for taking the time and effort to take the pictures.
lovin' all the Basin stoke. looks like you intend to give the Altards a run for their $$$ this year
sweet pics, J. And holy crap that is BIG

Nice huck pics, but this one REALLY stands out. Nice work, skiers and photogs.

i'm partial to this one:
Nice pics though fellas.

Here's the more profile style shot of the area with guides (for village idiot):

I like this one too. MD9, where is this? I've seen this line a few times on the board and am wondering where it is. May be obvious, but I'm still a 'basin jong.Originally Posted by lemon boy

Great pics, I like the one with the big turns in the chute best.
Raddest family on the board. Top freakin' notch.![]()
Hell Yes! I hope you earned FF miles on that huck!
Damn! Powder Mag stuff? I mean, you should send them some of these and see what happens.

I don't have any experience hucking, but it seems like keeping things together on big drops is really hard. Once a skier has dropped far enough that they're traveling mostly straight down, I think an upright position would be aerodynamically unstable (center of pressure in front of center of mass) since the surface area of the skis is going to create a lot of air drag. This means that the skis would tend to rotate the skier into an upside-down position. If the skier stays directly on top of the skis, they may be able to keep them there, though it'll require perfect execution and/or a lot of small corrections (maybe this is what rolling up the windows does?). Once the skier is a little off center and is traveling fast enough, the force on the skis will cause a rotation. With a backseat bias for landing and the bindings mounted rear of center, I would expect the skis to tend to come up in front of the skier on large drops.Originally Posted by meatdrink9
In this case it looks like you may have come off the lip with a slight roll to your left, which resulted in the skis coming up on your right side and in front of you. It looks like your rate of rotation increased throughout the trajectory as your airspeed increased and your skis got out from underneath you.
These photos are amazing, and I can't begin to imagine what it must take to execute a huck like that. I have huge respect for you and others who do things like this.
TITS that is all, just tits.
More fucked up than a cricket in a hubcap
Thanks for sharing MD9, seriously, thanks dude!
I always wanted to be that guy but I dont think I ever will!
You are killing it dude!
I’ll just stick to my illicit vices for a rush, I guess .![]()

Unfucking real.
you really looked like you knew what you were doing until i saw this sequence.....LOL....Originally Posted by meatdrink9

I love the picture of you in Crinkle, but that last sequence shot is amazing. It reminds me of physics problems set for us at school when you would have to work out the trajectory, velocity and acceleration of the falling object. You weren't falling, you were bloody flying for a moment there!
Monty Python's version of the cougar phenomenon:
"This is a frightened city. Over these houses, over these streets hangs a pall of fear. Fear of a new kind of violence which is terrorizing the city. Yes, gangs of old ladies attacking defenseless, fit young men".
When MD9 showed Big E and I that cliff on Saturday my eyes nearly popped out of my head!![]()
Thanks for the photos...and the tour on Saturday![]()
Man, I love this place.
