I guess I forgot to mention search function, this is far from the first time Stocklis have been discussed.
I have yet to meet someone who owned a pair who did not love them--I love mine, but I doubt their race skis are what you're looking for (did you say which ones you want?).

most questions are answered pretty quickly in tech talk, especially if you search before you post.

here all you are going to get is a bunch of shit.

and yeah, stocklis suck. i never had any fun on a pair of 201 asteroids.

Allow me to exercise the crown of Stockli Fanboy bestowed upon me by the estimable phUnk.

Stocklis r00l. I've been hammer a pair of Asteroids for 5 years now. Best ski I've ever had for PNW constant pow/crud conditions. And they're bomber: I've hit rocks galore, 20+ basewelds and the things still hold together. Yeah, so telemonster cracked the sidewalls on his 201s, but that guy blows up everything.

Pluses: does everything: pow, bumps, groimers, crud. 94mm underfoot and 122 tip provides the float, torsionally and longitudinally stiff.

Minuses: The stiff flex does preclude tip float in the super light CO fluff.

    Buy them.

that's enough for me with everything else I've "searched" and found. Just wanted a few general feed backs.

thanks and since i rarely post tech talk shit, even though i'm in there enough, i wasn't sure of the response time and i needed to do this now. I figured I'd get the general shit interspersed with useful facts....nevertheless.

Wait, Buster sold a pair of Stocklis? Now I'm disillusioned.

Actually, now I remember the thread in which he offered them, tearfully, for sale.

Yes, twisted, but true. As I slide into a geriatric stupor, swaddled in Depends and sucking on my LSD lollipop, I've had to acknowledge that the acl and meniscus tear of K00kw00d, 2001 has had a life changing effect on my skiing.

So now with blue hair and no turn signals, I straddle the groimers, carving wobbly stem turns into the sunset of my daze.

And you, Dex of all peeps, better show up to celebrate it. Foggy, Frigidwizzle and Pinnoir too.

Stocklis are great skis. Period. Last two season DP's (Black) and the original XL's (red white blue flames) are some of the finest skis ever. Hand built, race/pro stock available to the public. BTW, skied Crystal all day yesterday on 03/04 Asteriods and they kicked ass. Fast, quick edge to edge and consistant through all the variations of snow.
The snow doesn't give a soft white damn whom it touches.

    Thumbs down

stockli has a good product, minus the sidewall. i say that because if you ski them as hard as intended, you'll also be minus a sidewall or two. i don't know too many people that actually ski off the groomers with all four sidewalls left on these skis. don't expect stockli to warranty anything either. pilot error is a common term around their office.

they're a great ski but use them lightly.

Not my experience at all. Then again, I'm a granny groimer type.

Stockli makes a bad ass ski. I have the original XL's (red white blue flames) and they are sweet! Most of the time they are used off trails at K-wood and I have not experienced any edge/sidewall issues ever. They are tough hand crafted skis. Where do you get your info?

FWIW, my Stockli GSers have taken some landings that were the equivalent (or worse--dropping 15 feet to flat ice) of what blew the sidewalls (and injured me) of my old GS skis, and they've been fine (I kept getting injured, though. I think I need better sidewalls--and ACL's).
    And they rail.

I actually have to back this up, despite my allegiance to the skis. I freaking love their skis, however have had a couple of issues with my XL's... Two seasons ago I bent the tail on one, which I barely got replaced after about 4 months of whining, and then last year I blew out a sidewall on the new pair. Those were replaced as well... All that said, they are the best skis I have been on, and just got a pair of the new DP's and so far they are phenomenal. Customer service was a little tough, but all said and done I cant complain as I did get new ones...

if you're talking about me, i get my info from my own eyes. i ski 194 ss pros that still have 3 sidewalls. i retired them for 1/2 a season as did most of those that ski them in lcc. the sidewall issue isn't much of a secret. i've seen many sets of asteroids with blown sidewalls. the only other ski w/ a similar track record is the gotama and they've replaced all the ones blown that i've heard of.

despite how well stocklis ski, i'll never buy another set again. there are too many reputable companies making killer boards.
